Serco North America is Hiring a Technical Program Manager Near Washington, DC

Position Description

Seeking individuals with the technical acumen, business savvy, and leadership skills to guide support teams tackling the biggest shipbuilding challenges in the U.S. Navy. The Navy Technical Program Manager will lead Serco team supporting U.S. Navy Major Program Managers at NAVSEA in Washington, D.C. Bring your expertise and collaborative skills to make an impact towards our military defense and safety of our sailors.

The successful candidate will help lead and direct the contract support team overseeing the construction of the U.S. Navy ships and assist the program office with resolving technical and programmatic challenges encountered during the construction and test of the ships.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead and manage efforts of large support team integrating support across multiple tasks.
  • Coordinate activities of over a dozen subcontractors to provide unified effort to support the program office.
  • Oversee cost, schedule and quality of the contract work being performed.
  • Monitor status of program technical and acquisition issues. Lead efforts to develop, recommend, and implement solutions that benefit the Navy.
  • Provide expertise to assist efforts across the company.
  • Ensure requirements of contract are met and deliverables are submitted on time.
  • Assist with developing solutions for future work.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A current or active DoD Secret security clearance.
  • A Master’s degree in Engineering or similar.
  • Ten to twelve years of professional experience in defense acquisition, program management, technical, or business management, and a minimum of 5 years’ supervisory experience.
  • The ability to travel at least 10% of the time.

Additional desired experience and skills:

  • DAWIA Level III certification or Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent in area of contract management, program management, or business management.
