If you like high profile and challenging computer programing work supporting the readiness of America’s Navy ships, aircraft and expeditionary forces – Serco has a great opportunity for you! This Software Engineer will be working on a dynamic team supporting applications on the Defense Information System Agency (DISA) military cloud. Bring your experience and collaborative skills to make an impact toward improving our military defense planning and combat readiness. Serco supports the U.S. Navy as the prime contractor for their Integrated Readiness Modeling, Technical and Professional Support Services contract. Our team conducts analysis and provides software development and lifecycle support for a portfolio of integrated applications used by the Navy to determine future fleet readiness requirements. You will be part of a 24-member team that works closely with the customer to ensure that our Navy is accurately resourced to provide the required level of maritime combat readiness.

Active Secret security clearance is required to be considered.

In this role, you will:

• Use ColdFusion to create components to perform Create/Read/Update/Delete (CRUD) operations on various databases
• Extract, transform and present data.
• Use JavaScript as the core application development software and Extended Java Script (ExtJS) for Graphic User Interfaces (GUI) display, operations, and presentation of data.
• Use Oracle to create, modify, optimize, and test views, queries, procedures, and packages.
• Collaborate and coordinate with team members to enhance and optimize existing applications.
• Assist with documentation of software.
• Perform analysis with spreadsheets, graphs, and pivot tables to test application algorithms.
• Apply process improvement methodologies to support root cause analysis as needed as it relates to software development.
• Identify industry benchmarks and best practices relatable to performance deficiencies and recommend courses of action to remove encountered barriers.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• An active Secret clearance.
• A Bachelor’s degree or 5 years of relative experience in lieu of degree.
• 7 years of experience in the design, writing, and testing of computer programs or database maintenance.
• Proficiency in ColdFusion, ExtJS and Oracle.
• A comprehensive knowledge of the principles, practices, and procedures used in all phases of full life cycle applications and systems maintenance, engineering, programming, and analysis.
• The ability to work independently and with a team.

A plus for succeeding in this position would be any of the following:

• Familiar with Microsoft O365.
• COMPTIA Security or higher, Certification.
• .NET C# familiarity.
• Modeling to include Performance Feedback.
