Serco has a Shipyard Production Engineer role in Marinette, Wisconsin that will allow you to have influence every day. As the on-site lead you will be directing a dynamic team of SMEs, to include welding/fabrication, piping, machinery, HVAC, drawing changes, scheduling/planning and additional SMEs as the Navy’s support needs arise. (These could include testing, combat systems, electrical, outfitting, and aviation or others as needed.)
Your role will include conducting daily oversight and surveys of conditions found at FMM Shipyard in Marinette, Wisconsin, receiving reports from each SME and developing both weekly and monthly reports to the lead Production Support Manager.
You will also brief SUPSHIP leadership as needed to report any significant conditions found or observed trends that could affect cost, quality, or schedule. This position is contingent upon your ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret level clearance post-employment.
Serco supports the US Navy as a prime for providing engineering and production support on the FFG-62 (Guided Missile Frigate) program. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a skilled group of engineers and field technicians at the shipbuilder’s facility and with a mission to improve the efficiency and quality of the shipyard’s processes and to deliver a safe and reliable ship that meets all Navy requirements.
You will lead a six-to-eight-member team that works closely with PMS 515, the local SUPSHIP office and other Serco teams to provide field engineering and production support in construction, testing, and delivery of the Navy’s latest Frigate design. The size of the onsite team will increase as additional ships are constructed or as the Navy requests specific SME support beyond areas already covered. Our production engineering team conducts 3D model and 2D drawing reviews and our on-site team will provide oversight in the areas of fabrication of panels and modules, accuracy control of individual panels and modules and alignment. Our Navy customer relies heavily on each individual’s skillset to provide support to the program office team as well as Supship and the shipbuilder’s team, all sharing a common goal to successfully build, test and deliver multiple FFGs to the next generation of sailors.
