Senga Engineering is Hiring an Estimator (FT) Near Santa Ana, CA
- Work with Business Development, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Quality, and Scheduling to create a complete customer quote package.
- Analyze specifications and blueprints to create part profiles that include detailed descriptions, necessary exceptions, necessary flow downs, and comprehensive bills of materials for all purchased materials, in JobBoss2 MRP system.
- Resolve discrepancies in RFQs by asking questions of customers.
- Review the individual department inputs for accuracy and push for operational efficiency.
- Compare computed costs against historical data and make recommendations.
- Coordinate with Purchasing to develop outside processing RFQs and vendors as needed for outside processes, raw materials, and hardware.
- Prepare a quote summary to explain the quote and any clarifications or exceptions to what is in the scope of supply or in the specifications.
- Coordinate completion of risk analyses.
- Order Administration:
- Converting estimates into shop floor job travelers.
- Prepare shop floor job packets.
- Initiate contract review process & coordinate through order confirmation to customer.
- Operate in accordance with AS9100 documentation; maintain accuracy of such documentation and submit changes when needed.
- Serve on internal continuous improvement teams and as internal auditor.
- Perform other duties as needed.
- Must possess good computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; good interpersonal and critical thinking skills.
- Must possess the ability and willingness to work in teams and be able to work with minimal supervision.
- Proficient in JobBoss2 MRP system.
- Strong knowledge of material costs, particularly aluminum and stainless steel.
- Ability to read and interpret information from blueprints and technical documents, RFQ’s, and other external/internal documentation in hard copy or electronic formats.
- Experience working in a machine shop.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills/customer service.
- Must be self-motivated and able to work independently to meet deadlines.
- Must be flexible and adaptable regarding changing priorities and assignments.
- Mechanical inclination.
- Problem-solving aptitude and creative thinking ability.
- Team player who can build relationships at all levels of the business.
- Demonstrated proficiency in English is required.
