The City of Seminole is seeking a responsible, professional individual who opens the Recreation Center and works the front desk. The hours are 5:45am - 8:45am (Mon - Fri), with some nights and weekends depending on assistance needed with Special Events and facility coverage. The position's responsibilities include opening the facility, customer service, registering patrons, cash handling, phone operation, filing and other various clerical duties.The salary range is $14.46 to $21.69/hour. Anticipated hiring rate of pay $14.46 - $15.00/hour.A background investigation and a drug screen will be conducted on the successful candidate.The Position: The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic and possess strong organization and communication skills. A strong desire for excellence and experience providing customer service to a diverse community is desired. Position Salary Range: $14.4603-$21.6904/hour
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Assist in computerized program registrations and collecting fees.Keeps records of equipment assigned to area or facility; issues recreational equipment to participants.Deals frequently with the public, tactfully and diplomatically.Enforces rules and regulations of the Recreation Department to maintain order and discipline among participants.Leads and coordinates groups in organized recreational activities at an assigned facility and with specific programs.Maintains attendance records of participants to assigned programs.Assists in the overall recreation and leisure function by making sure equipment is available and set up properly.Assists in conducting recreational tournaments and other sports programs.Assists the general public by providing information regarding the various programs and services provided by the Recreation Department.Opens, closes, or secures a facility; takes all precautions to maintain participants safety.Maintains assigned recreation area or facility, including set up and break down of equipment and performing minor custodial services as required.May direct and/or supervise recreation leisure programs such as games, sports, music, dancing, arts and crafts, nature activities, camping, informal group activities, pre-school programs, summer camp activities, etc.Prepares reports as may be required by the Recreation Director.Adheres to established guidelines for purposes of preventing/minimizing injuries and accidents.Investigates and reports accidents as required by established policies and procedures.Greets the public in a courteous manner, both in person and on the telephone, and answers questions and provides information as appropriate.May prepare arts and crafts projects for special events.May assist with the preparation and maintenance of publicity materials such as flyers and bulletin boards throughout the Recreation Department facility.Strives to maximize effective communications with all personnel within the Department as well as the general public.Performs other job-related duties as consistent with the position.
