SEKON is Hiring a Remote CDC Project Manager - REMOTE

SeKON is seeking a Project Manager to support the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) & Prevention, specifically eHARS in Atlanta, GA. The Division of HIV/AIDS Prevention (DHAP) within the National Center for HIV/AIDS, Viral Hepatitis, STD, and TB Prevention (NCHHSTP), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) provides funds to state, territorial and local health departments (HDs) to conduct surveillance of HIV infection under cooperative agreements.

This position is based in Atlanta, GA, but will be remote.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • IT Project Planning Facilitation:
  • Coordinate and facilitate IT project planning activities with DHAP technical and project staff.
  • Document the process for change requests from various stakeholders as directed by the NHSS Data Systems Steering Committee.
  • Manage change requests using JIRA© database.
  • CCB Support:
  • Assist the eHARS CCB in weekly meetings or as required.
  • Schedule meetings, prepare and distribute minutes, and provide information on change request complexity and level of effort.
  • Support DHAP SMEs who are voting members of the CCB.
  • Resource Management:
  • Assign and manage project resources.
  • Develop and monitor schedules, provide level of effort estimates, and track tasks, outcomes, schedules, and variances.
  • Deliverable Management:
  • Provide all required CDC EPLC deliverables and supplemental documents using CDC EPLC templates.
  • Assist in collecting, organizing, and presenting information for EPLC stage-gate and project reviews.
  • Technical Assistance:
  • Facilitate and assist NCHHSTP Informatics staff with Enterprise Systems Catalog (ESC) reporting.
  • Compliance Adherence:
  • Adhere to OMB/HHS/CDC Enterprise Architecture guidelines and CDC network standards.
  • Issue and Risk Management:
  • Proactively identify, log, notify appropriate CDC/DHAP staff, and resolve IT project issues and risks.
  • Status Reporting:
  • Present status reports to the NHSS Data Systems Steering Committee at scheduled meetings.
  • Report discussion outcomes and Committee decisions.
  • Project Status Updates:
  • Provide project status updates and summary reports to the (COR) including cost, schedule, issues, and risks.
  • Information Reporting:
  • Provide written updates as required to assist DHAP in collecting, compiling, formatting, reporting, and submitting IT project information for NCHHSTP data calls or ad-hoc inquiries.
  • Project Tracking:
  • Assign a unique job number to each project and accurately track personnel hours to the appropriate job number.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in Project Management.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
  • 3 years’ experience utilizing MS Project, developing schedules and workplans.
  • Experience managing subcontractors.
  • Ability to work multiple projects concurrently within deadlines while ensuring that complex information is conveyed in a clear, accurate, and concise manner under normal and in crisis situations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and proactively with customers and program office members in multi-vendor environments.
  • Experience with developing compliant documentation.
  • Knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, MS Teams, and SharePoint is required.
  • Excellent writing skills, as well as the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively.
