Position Overview

The Director of Development will serve as a cornerstone in planning and executing a multifaceted fundraising program encompassing annual giving, major gifts, corporate and foundation giving, planned giving, and special events. Reporting to the Operations Director, this role will collaborate closely with the Executive Director to establish fundraising objectives and strategies.

Key Responsibilities

1. Comprehensive Fundraising Plan: Devise and implement a comprehensive fundraising plan aligned with organizational revenue targets, encompassing diverse fundraising streams such as annual giving, major gifts, corporate and foundation giving, planned giving, and special events.

2. Prospect Cultivation: Identify and cultivate prospects, corporate entities, and foundation donors, fostering enduring relationships within the community to support fundraising endeavors.

3. Donor Engagement: Maintain relationships with current and prospective donors across the community, ensuring ongoing engagement and support for the organization's mission.

4. Special Event Coordination: Lead the planning and execution of special events aimed at donor engagement and fundraising, ensuring seamless logistics and compelling attendee experiences.

5. Collaborative Marketing Initiatives: Partner with the Communications Director to develop and implement impactful donor communications and marketing materials, effectively conveying the organization's mission and fundraising initiatives.

6. Strategic Alignment with Leadership: Collaborate closely with the Executive Director and Operations Director to formulate fundraising strategies, set goals, and align efforts with organizational priorities.

7. Performance Evaluation: Monitor and analyze fundraising data to assess performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and adapt strategies accordingly to optimize fundraising outcomes.

8. Ambassador Coordination: Coordinate Ambassador involvement in development activities, providing guidance and support to ensure cohesive and effective participation.

9. External Representation: Represent the organization at external events as required, serving as a key advocate for the organization's mission and fundraising objectives.

Preferred Qualities:

- Suggested 5 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, with a track record of success in annual giving, corporate and foundation giving, and special events.

- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to craft compelling donor communications and marketing materials.

- Strong collaborative abilities, with a demonstrated capacity to work effectively with Board Members, Staff, Ambassadors, and volunteers to achieve fundraising goals.

- Knowledge in fundraising software and donor databases to streamline operations and enhance donor management processes.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
