Second Act Boutique is Hiring an Office Assistant for Retail Boutique Near Chicago, IL

Do you have amazing customer service skills and love helping others?

Second Act is a cancer recovery boutique accredited by the American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics & Pedorthics, Inc. We carry post-breast surgery garments including mastectomy bras, prostheses, compression sleeves, wigs and accessories. Additional retail items that can be purchased off the rack including camisoles, tank tops, t-shirts, swimsuits, hats and scarves.

We are seeking to add an office assistant with extraordinary people skills including building customer relationships and providing excellent customer service.

To be successful in this position you must be a friendly, empathetic, enthusiastic, and positive team player who enjoys working with a small, close-knit team.

Must have experience with insurance companies and medical billing.

MAIN DUTIES:

  • Review and analyze medical records, invoices, and insurance claims
  • Verify the accuracy of patient information, diagnosis codes (ICD-9/ICD-10), and procedure codes
  • Ensure compliance with coding guidelines and regulations
  • Identify and resolve billing discrepancies or errors
  • Communicate with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients regarding billing inquiries or disputes
  • Prepare and submit claims for reimbursement to insurance companies
  • Follow up on unpaid claims and denials to ensure timely payment
  • Maintain accurate records of billing activities

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred
  • Previous experience in medical billing or coding required
  • Proficiency in medical terminology, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding, and medical office procedures
  • Familiarity with DRG (Diagnosis Related Group) coding is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
