Job Title: Sanitation Tech 
Job Description: 
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Sanitation Tech at Seattle Gourmet Foods Inc. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards by ensuring the proper cleaning and sanitization of various food processing equipment and instruments. Your primary focus areas will include the punches for our mint press machines, conveyor belts, scales, truffle line, engrossing pans, and other related equipment. 
Responsibilities: 
  • Perform regular cleaning and sanitization of food processing equipment and instruments according to established protocols and schedules. 
  • Focus on cleaning the punches for our mint press machines, ensuring they are thoroughly cleaned, sanitized, and free of any residue or contaminants. 
  • Clean and maintain conveyor belts, scales, truffle line, engrossing pans, and other equipment used in food processing. 
  • Disassemble and reassemble equipment as needed for thorough cleaning and sanitization. 
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines to ensure compliance with food safety regulations. 
  • Use appropriate cleaning agents, sanitizers, and tools to ensure effective sanitation and prevent cross-contamination. 
  • Inspect equipment for any signs of damage, wear, or malfunction and report any issues to the appropriate personnel. 
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including storage and disposal of cleaning supplies and chemicals. 
  • Collaborate with other team members and departments to ensure efficient and effective sanitation practices. 
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding sanitation, safety, and quality standards. 
Requirements: 
  • Previous experience in sanitation or janitorial work, preferably in a food manufacturing or processing environment. 
  • Knowledge of proper cleaning and sanitization techniques for food processing equipment and instruments. 
  • Familiarity with food safety regulations and compliance standards (e.g., FDA, USDA, HACCP). 
  • Ability to follow instructions, standard operating procedures, and safety guidelines. 
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards. 
  • Physical stamina and ability to perform repetitive tasks, lift heavy objects, and work in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. 
  • Flexibility to work during non-production hours as required for equipment cleaning and maintenance. 
  • High level of reliability, punctuality, and professionalism. 
Compensation and Benefits: 
  • The work schedule is Monday-Friday
  • $20-$25/hour DOE
  • Full Benefits package including medical, dental, vision, paid vacation and paid holidays and option for 401K with company match
