Overview:
The Scholarship Manager administers the Seattle Colleges Foundation's scholarships, including marketing and outreach, student support, scholarship reviewer training, donor stewardship, program tracking, and scholarship agreement compliance. This position continuously assesses and improves the Foundation's scholarship program identifying opportunities for growth and excellence, while improving the student scholar and donor experience.

As Scholarship Manager, you will be a key member of a team that builds awareness of the Equity Can't Wait campaign and its accomplishments, which align with the Seattle Colleges' commitment to being an exemplary learning institution that transforms lives and promotes equity and enriches the community. This position is governed by a collective bargaining agreement with representation by AFT_- SPS and is subject to union shop provisions

What you will be working on:
Marketing and Outreach
  • You will be work on developing and conducting outreach to students, college staff and community partners, pertaining to scholarship availability, policies and procedures, application deadlines, eligibility criteria, and the online application process.
  • You will work to co-create and co-produce culturally relevant scholarship announcement content to proactively recruit students from historically underserved populations.
  • You will serve as the primary point of contact for scholarship program information and refer requests for specific or technical information to appropriate contacts at the Colleges
  • You will provide customer service to donors, students, and community stakeholders through timely and responsive communication and develop and maintain website content related to scholarship programs.
  • You design and conduct scholarship application workshops and work with students to draft compelling personal statements for their applications.
  • You participate in various campus committees to further scholarship program goals and coordinate with finance and administration staff on quarterly follow-up related to scholarship awards
Application and Award Process
  • You coordinate scholarship volunteer committees by recruiting, managing, and training reviewers including corporate volunteers, Foundation board members, donors, Seattle Colleges staff and faculty, and community partners
  • Collaborate with Scholarship Director to develop selection processes that ensure effective, equity-based outcomes; maintain scholarship platform (AwardSpring), training materials, and support documents.
Program Administration
  • You will collect and organize program award and financial information with a high level of accuracy to meet annual audit requirements, track and report program outcomes, and support overall program accountability and donor stewardship.
  • Your oversee and enforce compliance with all scholarship agreements, especially related to donor intent
  • Collaborate with the Colleges' Financial Aid Offices, Student Services, and other college staff to ensure accuracy and follow-through on all related activities and processes.
Donor Stewardship
  • You collaborate and work with Advancement team to honor and recognize donors; including collecting student thank you letters and connecting donors and scholars and plan and implement at least one annual scholarship event that includes scholarship donors and funders
Other
  • You may oversee hourly and student workers
What you bring as a candidate:
  • You have a bachelor's degree or higher; any combination of relevant education, training, and experience that indicate the successful performance of the essential elements of the position.
  • You have 2-5 years of experience coordinating programs.
  • You demonstrated commitment to working within a diverse college community that serves students from a broad spectrum of socioeconomic and academic backgrounds.
  • You have a high level of cultural competency and the ability to work with a diverse group of students, colleagues, and community members.
  • You have excellent writing, proofreading, and communication skills and the ability to effectively present information to a variety of audiences: donors, executive level staff, students, etc. and have a proven ability to manage multiple projects or tasks simultaneously, set priorities, and handle numerous responsibilities.
  • Fluency in Word, Excel, Outlook, event and/or database software.
  • You have a collaborative and Team-Oriented Work Style; and you have the willingness to work with, and help others in completing job assignments, develop the ability to accept constructive criticism and to cooperate with co-workers and supervisors; demonstrate alignment with the "Yes, and" culture, (e.g., being present and listening, supporting each other, embracing change and failure and choosing positivity).
  • You thrive on cooperating and supporting change and new processes, acceptance, and quality performance throughout the change.
  • You are willing to dedicate efforts, attention, interest, and activities to those centered upon the best interest of students.
