JOB TITLE: Educational Assistant – Special Needs, 33.75 hours per week (6.75 hours per day, average)

REPORTS TO: Building Principal and Special Education Teacher

JOB SUMMARY:

To assist licensed teacher in a special education classroom setting, general education classroom setting and in the community by performing instructional tasks in small groups and one-on-one settings, assists students with physical management and provides student supervision. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Criminal history clearance (background check and HB 2062).
3. Ability to meet Highly Qualified Paraprofessional standards (2 years of college, Associates degree or pass WorkKeys skills test).
4. Basic computer/technology skills.
5. Ability to meet the Covid-19 vaccine requirements of OAR 333-019-1030.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Spanish speaker.

6. Ability to treat information confidentially.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Reports all days that students are in attendance. Salary (code 8) with excellent benefits, based on current OSEA salary schedule and negotiated agreement. Start date: ASAP
