JOB TITLE: Educational Assistant – Special Needs, 33.75 hours per week (6.75 hours per day, average)

REPORTS TO: Building Principal and Classroom Teacher

JOB SUMMARY: To assist classroom teachers with individual and/or small group learning in special and general education classrooms and provide student supervision as needed. Staff will be asked to support students with a variety of needs, which could include academic, social, functional and behavioral supports. A primary focus is the establishment of a positive learning environment that promotes a high level of achievement and inclusion for all students. Full job description available upon request.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Criminal history clearance (background check and HB 2062).
• Ability to meet Highly Qualified Paraprofessional standards (2 years of college, Associates degree or pass WorkKeys skills test).
• Basic computer/technology skills.
• Ability to meet the Covid-19 vaccine requirements of OAR 333-019-1030.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Works a school year calendar, approximately 182 days at FTE .8438. Based on current OSEA salary schedule and negotiated agreement, salary (code 8 – starting $16.36/hr – $18.90/hr) with excellent benefits including Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance and Oregon state retirement.
