General Description

The dispatcher / counter sales is essential to ensure the smooth running of all transportation related items of SealMaster’s fleet of Trucks, Heavy Equipment and Material on a day-to-day basis.

As a Dispatcher, this role communicates back and forth with drivers to assist with problem resolution while on route for residential and or commercial sites. The dispatcher will handle all incoming and outgoing orders, and directs drivers for maximum efficiency. The dispatcher communicates with customers that includes customer service, sales, and operational staff (i.e. Outside Sales Reps, Mechanics, other SealMaster employees etc.). Uses software to enter ticket information and track activity.

This individual directly coordinates activities for all our drivers engaged in delivering materials and or equipment, to job sites

Qualifications

• College Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Excellent Proficiency with basic PC hardware and software, including MS Word and MS Excel.
• Organizational skills.
• Skill in recording and retrieving general information.
• Skill in communicating effectively with others both orally and in writing.
• Ability to do physical labor and other strenuous physical tasks.
• Ability to lift at least 70 pounds.
• Ability to work in all weather.
• Valid Indiana driver's license.
• Must be punctual and reliable.

Work Experience Requirements

• 2 years of previous fleet management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage team of four drivers.
• Manage all aspects of ELD.
• Manage all aspects of truck maintenance.
• Pricing on all functions in the Fleet for purchases, negotiations of Fuel, grease, tires, parts, Trucks and Equipment.
• Develop a Preventive Maintenance Program to be implemented by SealMaster drivers.
• Set and keep up dated service records on equipment and Trucks for DOT compliance.
• Keep up with all the DOT requirements, permits, inspections etc.
• Track Fuel purchases to fuel consumption on all fleet operations.
• Schedule and track all movements of equipment and trucks.
• Improve Safety among the company on the road.
• Assist, open, follow up and close; accidents and incidents near misses where drivers are involved.
• Reduce maintenance cost by 10-15% for the first year.
• Provide Quarterly progress reports to management.
• Encourage Teamwork, Open Door, and Safety Culture between drivers.
• Provide basic fleet maintenance training to drivers.
• Random inspections on how the fleet maintenance, safety, and operation is handle on jobsites.
• Set up accounts and approve PO’S for all fleet related expenses.
• Perform other job duties as assigned.
• You will not be sitting at a desk 24/7, you will be required to be mobile, you will be ensuring loads are ready.
• You will be ensuring drivers are doing pre trip inspections
• You will be ensuring that the trucks are being maintained
• This is a very hands on job.

Safety

• Promote, execute and adhere to the company's safety program, and encourage all employees, to adopt safety as a culture.
• Attend daily and weekly safety meetings and inspections.
• Work with Safety Department to investigate damage, incidents or near misses in the worksite, and ensure proper procedures are carried out according to the Company’s Safety Program.
• Work in a safe, responsible manner to not intentionally or unintentionally injure oneself, or endanger the wellbeing of others.
