Advise TX TAMU is entering our 13th year at Texas A&M! We seek to increase the number of low-income, first generation and underrepresented Texas students entering and completing post-secondary education. We are accomplishing this mission by placing exceptional recent college graduates from all fields of study on high school campuses as near-peer College Advisers. Advise TX Advisers are AmeriCorps members who receive a living stipend in addition to an education award equivalent to the Pell Grant ($7,395) that can be used to pay toward student loans or tuition for those who plan to pursue a masters or doctorate degree. We provide training that focuses on college access, college admissions, financial aid, student services, diversity, community service and professionalism. Our staff serve a maximum of two year on their assigned high school campus, making this a great opportunity for those who want to kick start their career in college access/higher education, or who want to give back to their community before continuing their career in another field.
We are currently looking to fill vacancies for the 24-25 academic year in Houston area
Candidates must have graduated from a university in the state of Texas with a Bachelor's degree.
