Job Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Resident Assistant to join our team. As a Resident Assistant, you will provide essential care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities in a residential setting. Duties:
- Assist residents with daily activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and medication reminders
- Provide companionship and emotional support to residents
- Ensure resident safety and well-being at all times
- Maintain a clean and organized living environment for residents
- Follow established care plans and document any changes or observations
- Assist with mobility and transfers as needed
- Promote resident independence and respect their rights
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure consistent care delivery
Requirements:
- Previous experience in senior care, working with people with developmental disabilities, or home care is preferred
- Knowledge of vital signs and basic caregiving techniques is a plus
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with residents and their families
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team
- Must be reliable, responsible, and able to handle emergency situations calmly
- High school diploma or equivalent is required; additional certifications in direct support or caregiving are a plus
