SCOUT CLEAN ENERGY is Hiring an Information Technology (IT) Manager Near Boulder, CO

Position Summary

The Information Technology (IT) Manager is responsible for the implementation and management and operational IT systems to meet the IT requirements of the business. More specifically, the IT Manager develops IT strategic plans and policies and oversees all aspects of IT operations, including infrastructure, data processing, computer services, network communications, cybersecurity and applications, to support the achievement of Scout Clean Energy’s business objectives. In addition, the IT Manager identifies and ensures the successful implementation of IT projects to enhance business systems and improve the efficiency of the organization.

The IT Manager will report directly to Scout’s Head of Technical Services

Responsibilities

  • Advise senior management on IT strategic initiatives in support of business goals and objectives.
  • Develop and implement IT policies to ensure sound governance and management of business systems across the organization.
  • Set objectives for the IT function aligned with Scout Clean Energy’s overall business objectives.
  • Assess the company’s current technology infrastructure and make changes required to align it with the business needs of the organization.
  • Optimize the use of IT tools, software, hardware and other devices to improve efficiency of the organization.
  • Set the cybersecurity strategy and framework and implement tools to ensure the security of business information and IT assets.
  • Oversee the development, review, and certification of all back-up and disaster recovery procedures and plans.
  • Ensure the ongoing functionality and availability of all IT systems and services, including infrastructure, applications and services, aligned with service level agreements in place.
  • Manage IT operations and contracts with a view to balance costs with excellence in delivery.
  • Oversee the implementation of new applications and changes to existing systems and software packages.
  • Ensure that IT projects are delivered within scope, on schedule and in budget.

Qualifications

Skillset and Experience

  • Degree in computer science, computer engineering, information technology or related field.
  • Preferably 10 years of experience in an information technology environment with 3 years in a senior leadership role, preferably with an energy company or in a high-growth business.
  • Demonstrated experience in setting IT strategies aligned with an organization’s business goals.
  • Strong ability to work in partnership with business functions to identify their IT requirements and facilitate the implementation of solutions to address them.
  • A track record of establishing and maintaining relevant industry relationships with third-party service providers and hardware/software providers.
  • Experience in overseeing the management of administrative systems and operational systems (i.e. SCADA) – in particular Microsoft D365FO, Microsoft O365 and OSI Soft Pi
  • Experience in managing disparate IT environments and infrastructures – in particular cloud-based IAAS and SAAS (Azure and AWS)
  • Ability to communicate effectively through verbal, written, and visual means.

  • Ability to multi-task and arbitrate between conflicting priorities with clear target setting and follow-through capability in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a flat organization, successfully leveraging the expertise of multiple colleagues in different lines of reporting.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.

Timeline and Location

We will review resumes for this role on an ongoing basis with a start date targeted in Q1 2023.Our ideal candidate will be willing to work from our Boulder, Colorado, office at least three days per week. A remote work arrangement will be considered for the right candidate and will involve regular travel to our Boulder office.

Compensation

Target base salary: $90,000-115,000. Attractive bonus potential.
