JOB
Under general supervision, the Seasonal Park Patrol oversees public activities on Scott County Conservation properties. Provides safety and security and assists the Park Rangers with enforcing Code of Iowa and Conservation Board rules and regulations. Acts in a public relations capacity providing information and assistance to the general public.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES

Employees are required to be in attendance and prepared to begin work at their assigned work location on the specified days and hours. Factors such as regular attendance at the job are not routinely listed in job descriptions but are an essential function. Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following: Maintains regular park patrol schedule; ensures adherence to Code of Iowa and Conservation Board rules within limits of authority; maintains a safe and enjoyable environment for the general public. Coordinates actions with certified law enforcement personnel as needed to handle situations safely and properly. Serves in a public relations capacity providing assistance and information to the general public as requested. Monitors park usage of campgrounds, picnic shelters, and all recreational areas and services to ensure proper usage, upkeep, collection of fees, and appropriate customer relations maintained. Responsible for reporting maintenance problems or hazardous situations to maintenance staff that requires immediate attention. Operates assigned equipment, to include various types of motorized vehicles, radios, computers, and law enforcement gear.Demonstrates the ability to exemplify, by his/her actions, the County PRIDE philosophy. Performs related duties as assigned.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
License and Certification RequirementsMust possess a valid driver's license. Physical Demands and Working Environment: Work is performed outdoors in all types of weather conditions and requires exposure to all hazards associated with law enforcement abilities.
