Scioto Residential Services, Inc. is Hiring a Human Resources Officer Near Portsmouth, OH

Scioto Residential Services, Inc. is a Medicaid provider of services for individuals with intellectual developmental disabilities. SRS provides day habilitation services and residential services.

SRS is a drug free workplace. Drug testing required.

The Human Resources Officer is responsible for ensuring that traditional HR functions are maintained. The HRO is supported by three administrative assistants that report to the HRO. The primary role of the HRO is to obtain and maintain qualified employees. The HRO reports to the company CEO.

Essential to success with the primary role of the HRO is to provide leadership, support, and direction to six home managers and a staff development coordinator. A positive work culture is the essential component for success with employees as well as the organization's success.

The home managers receive direction and support with regard to client care and home maintenance from program staff and nursing staff.

This position is administrative and is salary exempt from overtime pay. Salary exempt employees receive a bi-weekly salary. Salary exempt employees are required to submit a record of their work time weekly. Salary exempt employees are expected to work more than 40 hours in a week. The expectation is that all deadlines are met.

Qualifications:

1. Experience working in the field of human resources in a management role.

2. Interpersonal skills that demonstrate compassion with the ability to remain objective; assertive when situations present that require conflict resolution.

3. Excellent computer skills including excel.

4. Ability to operate within Facebook for company pages.

5. Ability to compose narratives, correspondence, policies, and procedures.

6. Comfortable with leading meetings and making group presentations.

7. Bachelor's degree or within a few hours of obtaining degree. Degree must be from an accredited university.

8. Some calls outside of office hours should be expected.

9. Some out of town travel required.

9. Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record to meet company standards for insurability to drive company vehicles.

Compensation:

Current salary ranges from an annualized amount of $49,920.00 to $60,320.

Scioto Residential Services was incorporated in June 1974 as a private not for profit corporation. Residential Supports - Licensed Homes-SRS provides supports to individuals in a variety of settings. We have 14 homes throughout the Scioto County area. These homes are owned or leased by SRS. All of our homes in this network are licensed by the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD). We work with individuals, their families, guardians and the Scioto County Board of Developmental Disabilities (SCBDD) to try to meet each persons desires and needs within all available options. Our individuals are assisted with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, shopping, recreation and medication administration. We provide transportation to access community services. Goals are set to more fully develop or maintain skills, such as learning to fold laundry or dust his/her bedroom. Each individual served has an Individual Service Plan (ISP) that is tailored to his/her needs. Respite Services - Respite services are temporary residential supports. This type of service is not intended to be for emergencies or crisis intervention. Respite supports require advance planning to ensure the health and safety of all affected individuals. Adult Day Services - SRS is certified through DODD as a provider to provide services. Our Adult Day Services (ADS) program is provided at OUR Place (Opportunities, Understanding and Respect) in the Portsmouth area. OUR Place is a fully accessible building, complete with kitchen, accessible restrooms and full showers. This program operates within the hours of 9:00 am and 3:00 pm, Monday through Friday. ADS is a non-vocational (non-work) service that enables the individual to participate in activities, such as skills reinforcement, personal care, recreation and medication administration in a non-residential setting.
