Software Engineering Manager - IoT Software - Golden, CO Allegion is seeking a highly motivated Software Engineering Manager to join our Golden, Colorado team. The responsibility of the Software Manager is the day-to-day management of all engineering activities related to various software products. Excellent quality and functionality of application software is the basis for generating sales and revenue and securing market shares and customer satisfaction. Overall success greatly relies on operative processes practiced by a highly motivated team of developers that is lead and coached by this role. Responsibilities Oversee the execution of assigned software projects. Establish and maintain appropriate team and project performance metrics ensuring that engineering solutions meet requirements for cost, time, and quality. Work closely with product management, architecture, and other cross functional teams to deliver best in class software solutions to our customers. Provide technical direction and leadership to the development team. Mentor team members for career growth and personal development. Set individual and team goals in alignment with the organizational goals. Monitor progress through regular performance feedback sessions with individuals on the development team. Create an environment that builds employee engagement and fosters employee growth, development, and retention. Serve as a role model in effective communication, collaboration, and candor. Qualifications Mobile and/or cloud services product design and implementation experience from concept to production to sustaining. Demonstrated experience or strong understanding of interfacing software to a hardware device. Ability to clearly articulate business goals and strategies to development teams. Ability to lead teams in solving problems, making decisions, and effective collaboration with peer organizations. Possesses and demonstrates strategic knowledge of software development principles and practices. Ability to assess risks and make decisions, acting with a sense of urgency enabling teams to deliver on time. Ability to build trust and loyalty within the team. Experience working and managing a team within a Scrum framework. CSM certification or experience with SAFe are highly desired. Preferred BS or MS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering. 10 years of relevant software experience. At least 3 years in an engineering leadership role and at least 5 years of consumer or commercial product design experience. Compensation: This range is provided by Allegion. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience. The expected Base Salary Range: $147k-$186.4k and is bonus eligible.
