JOB SUMMARY:

The Receiver is responsible for the safe, timely and accurate receipt and initial processing of product before being placed in the appropriate warehouse locations.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Enter freight information and quantity of goods received into computer terminal

• Unload incoming deliveries, scan each product type and verify to purchase order/manifest

• Create labels and affix to (correct) product

• Break down, check for quality (i.e., produce) and report any shortages

• Check temperatures, dates and if any damage, document and notify Purchasing Department immediately

• Unload any chemicals following GHS guidelines and spill procedures

• Direct drivers and complete any necessary paperwork

• Ensure warehouse, occupational and food safety at all times; keep work areas clean

Requirements

QUALIFICATION, SKILL, AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

• High School diploma preferred

• Warehouse experience preferred

• Basic computer skills

• Operate all Receiving equipment (industrial fork truck, hand jacks, etc.)

• Able to lift an average of 40lbs repetitively (and up to 80lbs)

• Ability to bend, reach, squat and kneel; ability to climb ladders

• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively

• Work on concrete floors for extended periods of time

• Must be flexible, dependable and able to work in a team environment

• Attention to detail with excellent organization skills

Must be able to pass drug screening and background check.
