SCAN is Hiring a Maintenance Worker Near Fort Wayne, IN

Under general supervision, oversees, coordinates, implements all activities regarding maintenance of SCAN buildings, properties and general equipment (owned or leased).
Essential Functions
Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
  • Assists with the coordination of assigning and set up of building space allocation and layout.
  • Inspects construction and installation progress.
  • Inspects buildings' structures, outdoor areas, and parking lots to determine the need for repairs or renovations.
  • Assists with cleaning and maintenance of facility and facility' grounds.
  • Directly responsible for maintaining a preventive maintenance program within the confines of an annual budget.
  • Maintains plan for fire evacuation and disaster response.
  • Responsible for hazardous waste disposal programs.
  • Responsible for recycling programs.
  • Execute all requests and needs communicated through the facilities ticket system to ensure all requests are completed.
  • Coordinate deliveries between locations and ensures basic supplies are maintained at non-central offices.
  • Performs other duties, as required by Supervisor.

  • Ability to prioritize and work with several projects simultaneously.
  • Good sense of technical maintenance and repair projects.
  • Valid Driver ' s license.
  • Proof of current automobile insurance.
  • Reliable transportation.
Physical Demands
  • Requires sitting, bending, stooping and stretching.
  • Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports.
  • Requires ability to work under stressful conditions.
  • Requires the ability to lift 50 pounds above the head.
  • Requires a high level of problem-solving and logical thinking ability.
Expected Hours of Work
  • Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available between the "core" work hours of 8am to 8pm and must work 40 hours to maintain full-time status.
Required Education
  • High school diploma or GED.
Preferred Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Property Management, and/or Construction Trade.
  • Twelve months' experience in property management, custodial work or construction work.
