GENERAL POSITION OVERVIEW
Performs accounts receivable and other accounting duties under general supervision.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
Must be detailed-oriented person. Must be able to work independently/be a team player as well, must perform job fast and accurately. Must have ability to multi-task and possess a strong commitment to accuracy and detail.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF THE POSITION
Performs on a frequent and/or recurring basis:
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of the accounts receivable process
- Process daily invoices/credit, apply cash receipt, help with collection of past due balance
- Credit card reconciliations experience
- Support accounts payable: vendor invoices and disbursement filing, A/P invoice matching filing
- General accounting and administration support: help with G/L account reconciliation and month-end closing, other ad hoc projects
- Correct transaction documents, which may require revision of other documents or entries as well as the original; may initiate other actions
- Code documents that require knowledge in determining proper classification of expenditure codes and accounting codes.
- Reconcile discrepancies by checking all possible sources of disagreement, reconstructing probable actions, and recognizing the effect on other accounts; prepare correction documents as required
- Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Attention to detail are critical
- Competency in MS Office, databases and accounting software
- Experience working with software systems such as Oracle Netsuite, QuickBooks, or other ERP system.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Three years of relevant accounting experience, knowledge of relevant accounting software; associate/four year college degree is required.
