We are currently adding to our staff and seeking a Staff Accountant. This position ensures the integrity of accounting information by planning, studying, and collecting data to determine activity such as component material purchases, inventory, and labor. The position also will also be involved in the project accounting side of the business.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent experience
- Highly detail-oriented and organized
- Ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail and deadlines
- Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with different levels of employees
- Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Improve costs and pricing processes, procedures, and standards.
- Analyze and develop cost standards for materials and labor.
- Analyze wastes and identify ways to reduce inventory.
- Analyze inventory valuations & revenue recognition in accordance with GAAP.
- Scrutinize cost variances & optimize profitability.
- Develop and maintain timely and accurate financial statements and reports in accordance with GAAP.
- Assist with monthly closing process, posting journal entries, conducting reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
- Review monthly results and implement monthly variance reporting.
- Investigate, propose and spear head process improvements relating to manufacturing/project expenses.
- File monthly Sales Tax Returns
- Participate in internal / external auditing.
