The Project manager is responsible for the successful launch of new product development projects. This individual is accountable for the coordinated management of multiple cross functional project teams directed toward strategic business and organizational objectives through leadership, management, and oversight. The project manager is responsible for stakeholder management while leading teams from preliminary development through industrialization and to production.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Manage Product Development Projects (PDP) and intradepartmental projects
  • Organizes, leads, and directs multiple project teams
  • Ensures all customer requirements are understood and the team meets or exceeds requirements
  • Ensures all requirements of the PDP process are completed, documented, and approved
  • Establishes and communicates project targets, scheduling, budget, and project performance
  • Reports project health and status updates to the steering committee and stakeholders
  • Coordinates technical aspects of projects with internal and external customers
  • Assists in priority setting and allocation of department resources
  • Responsible for successful product launches from project approval to launch by coordinating the activities of all internal functions; supply chain, manufacturing engineering, quality, production operations, and design engineering
  • Controls project costs by approving expenditures
  • Self-motivated, positive attitude, continuous improvement mindset and good business acumen
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, project management, or related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in project management and leading teams
  • Familiar with standard project management concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Skills in planning, problem solving / prevention / avoidance, risk analysis, interpersonal skills (cross-cultural awareness, leadership, communication, influence, negotiation, and conflict resolution) and leading multiple project teams
  • Experience with the Microsoft Suite software and Microsoft Project
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Advanced degree and/or PMP certification
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of firearm construction and operations a plus
