Job Summary

Medical 3 (4NW):

Medical 3 is a 29-bed unit located on 4 Northwest and is a part of the seven-unit Medical Surgical Division. Medical 3 is a new inpatient acute care unit as of December 2022, and we are excited to build a team of professionals striving to provide excellent care to our patients and families! The patient population on Medical 3 includes all adults eighteen years and older with any assortment of medical conditions, including but not limited to: kidney disease, falls, altered mental status, pain, shortness of breath and various infections. We believe a Medical Surgical foundation enhances your critical thinking, expands on an array of skills, and broadens your knowledge base, while providing opportunities for growth in our Magnet organization.

The Patient Care Technician performs tasks supportive to delivery of patient care in assigned departments under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.

Required Qualifications

- Require one of the following: 1.) Florida licensure as Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT); Paramedic, or a military corpsman; or National licensure as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT); which must be maintained active during employment; or 2.) Nursing students who are eligible for CNA exam are required to: a.) currently be enrolled in an accredited school of Nursing (RN/LPN); b.) have completed the first semester of clinical for ASN/BSN degree or completion of first trimester for LPN; and c.) cannot be currently licensed in the U.S. as a RN or LPN; or 3.) Patient Care Technician (PCT) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Certification: Provide certification of successful completion of a Florida State Board approved program and successfully obtain a Florida CNA license within 120 days of graduation. Preferred Qualifications

- Prefer working knowledge of commonly used computer applications.

Mandatory Education

HS EQ: High School Diploma, GED or Certificate

Required License and Certs

BLS: Basic Life Support/CPR
