ROLE DESCRIPTION

SAP Ariba is seeking a Senior designer to join our UX team. Ideal candidate will involve in full life cycle of product design by working closely with designers, product owners and technology teams. You will help conceptualize and realize the ideal product and experience for our end users. Your deliverables encompass everything that is needed to ensure that all stakeholders understand your vision and strategy of the right product and experience for a selected segment. You will also play a major role in incorporating design thinking and a human-centered design attitude in product organization. While self-motivated is a must, we’re also looking for a thinker and innovator who is willing to challenge the status quo and is energized by developing creative solutions to complex problems. You will be joining a team that jumps in with both feet and does what needs to be done. While you'll work under minimal supervision, your proactiveness to think deeply, speak clearly and work collaboratively is anticipated.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Actively practice and evangelize the customer-centric thinking
  • Contribute and drive the execution of UX strategy (UX roadmap/planning) within multiple product areas
  • Own and drive the design problems from the ideation to the execution
  • Lead complex, multidisciplinary projects from start to finish
  • Build relationship and collaborate closely with the cross-functional teams such as UX Research, Product Management, Engineering, Business Analytics, and Operations
  • Deeply understand the business goal and challenge its requirements as necessary
  • Use quantitative data and qualitative feedback to inform the design decisions iteratively
  • Create user scenarios, user journey, wireframes, UI designs and prototypes throughout the full cycle of the product development
  • Collaborate closely with designers on the team to gather feedback, define features, and contribute to the overall direction of your product area
  • Work with Design Infrastructure team to conform with the latest design system and contribute to its continuous innovation
  • Provide mentorship to junior and peer designers

ABOUT YOU

  • 7 years of experience in UX and product design.
  • Consumer mobile experience preferred
  • A strong portfolio showcasing foundational understanding of UX and UI design thought process and how you've contributed to solving specific problems with functional designs
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams – partnering with product and development to oversee the user experience from conception to launch
  • Ability to think long- and short-term to meet the constraints of the product requests while iterating toward a future vision
  • Keen ability to grasp complexity quickly and to focus on key issues
  • Clear communication skill and ability to present your work to internal stakeholders at different design stages and support your decisions
  • An acute self-awareness and deep empathy for both the customer and your team’s goals
  • Experience with prototyping as a means to explore and convey design solutions
  • Make a great thought partner with the cross-functional teams
  • Exude can-do attitude and enthusiasm
