PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES 

SAP Design is made up of multi-disciplinary teams of UX Designers, Researchers, Writers, Content Strategists, Program Managers, and Engineers. We care deeply about the people who use our products, and the SAP Design team plays an integral part in gathering insights about their attitudes, emotions, and behaviors to inspire and inform design. We collaborate closely with engineering and product management to create industry-leading products that deliver value for the people who use them and for SAP’s businesses.

The SAP Creative Studio works across the entire business to deliver innovative experiences at scale across all touchpoints. As the Principal Designer, Creative Studio, you will be a thought leader for the entire studio of UX designers, visual designers, writers, design PMs, and researchers. You will set a high bar for user experience and creative.

You will be a good fit for this role if you have great thought leadership and design experience across both UX and creative, as well as being a strong advocate for design and partners well with other disciplines to deliver impact. You will be data-driven and most importantly customer-obsessed and understand and appreciate how the Studio needs to scale operationally as well.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee Campaign Creative design systems and global production design for all key seasonal retail moments, product launches, and campaigns working closely with partners and stakeholders across the organization to deliver inspiring creative that is also effective at driving engagement.
  • Develop and maintain the SAP Design Product Expression. Responsible for creating messaging frameworks and visual guidance across all Design initiatives and campaigns. Maintain Product Expression guidelines and educate broader team on Product Expression. Deliver experiences for product launches that wow customers, as well as functional in serving customer needs and decision-making.
  • Grow an expanding insights and research capability that serve not only design efforts, but also partners with the broader SAP Design experimentation team to increasingly leverage customer insights for decision-making and experimentation.
  • Oversee the continued evolution of a web design library of navigation headers, templates, and components, leveraged across SAP to drive consistency in Product Expression and user experience.
  • Using Design Thinking or other processes, help drive thought leadership and work across disciplines to define new user experiences that are innovative, solve real customer problems and have impact on the business. Leverage strong depth of knowledge in various design, UX, mobile, video, motion design, and web technologies to create engaging and compelling customer experiences.
  • Build strong relationships across disciplines and stakeholders.
  • Ensure that all experiences meet high accessibility standards, and most importantly to design and deliver experiences for inclusivity.

WORK EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • 8 years of experience in design, user experience management, and/or digital transformation
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver new products, services, or web services at a global scale
  • Experience driving digital transformation projects and programs
  • Ability to handle complex design problems and have a proven ability to create customer-focused solutions
