Position Overview:

As the Human Resources Benefits Coordinator at Santa Fe South Schools, you will be responsible for overseeing the administration and management of our employee benefits programs. Working closely with the HR team and school leadership, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our benefits offerings align with our mission and support the needs of our diverse workforce. This position requires a deep understanding of benefits administration, exceptional communication skills, and a commitment to serving our employees.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, wellness initiatives, and other employee perks, in compliance with school policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries related to benefits, enrollment, eligibility, and claims resolution, providing timely and accurate assistance with empathy and professionalism.
  • Coordinate benefits enrollment and orientation for new hires, facilitating a smooth transition into the organization and ensuring employees understand their benefits options.
  • Develop and deliver benefits education sessions for employees, including workshops, presentations, and informational materials, to enhance understanding and engagement.
  • Collaborate with external benefit plan providers, insurance carriers, and vendors to negotiate contracts, resolve issues, and optimize benefits offerings for our employees.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and benefit-related data in the school's HRIS system, ensuring data integrity and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, legislative changes, and best practices in benefits administration, and make recommendations for program enhancements as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Education, or related field preferred but not required. Will consider candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  •  2 years of experience in benefits administration or a related HR function preferred, but we are willing to train the right person who demonstrates a strong desire to learn and grow in the role.
  • Experience in an educational setting is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of employee benefits regulations and state-specific requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with employees, administrators, and external vendors.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
