A.POSITION PURPOSE
The Program Director for Arrupe Engagement (PDAE) will coordinate and operationalize the Arrupe Engagement (AE) community-engaged learning program. The PDAE supports Santa Clara University students in community-engaged learning courses and serves as a liaison to faculty and community partners. As a member of the Ignatian Center's Community Engaged Student Learning (CESL) team, the PDAE will work with other members of the Division of Mission and Ministry to successfully accomplish the goals and strategic initiatives of the Division. This is a full-time, non-exempt position reporting to the Director of Community Engaged Student Learning (DCESL).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and manage partnerships and communications among the key program constituents: students, faculty, and community partners. Coordinate and manage all operational aspects of AE internal to the University. Implement assessment practices for the program. Contribute to the broader work of the Division of Mission and Ministry. Represent the Division in events and programs pertinent to the portfolio. Execute other tasks as assigned by DCESL.

Manage student participation in AE, including coordination with the Registrar and Provost Office. Oversee the portfolio of community partner organizations to meet the program's goals, including recruitment, onboarding, support, development, and planning. Oversee the portfolio of faculty to meet the program's goals, including recruitment, onboarding, support, development, and planning. Coordinate quality communication between all key constituents. In partnership with the Provost Office and under the direction of the DCESL, develop and drive programs, practices and materials to advance community-engaged learning pedagogy in the Ignatian educational tradition. Coordinate the network of campus partners that support the program in key areas of core curriculum, transportation, health, safety, etc.
Coordinate and manage all operational aspects of AE internal to the University.
Direct and implement all quarterly procedures, including sign-ups, class visits, orientations, and progress reports. Design and implement program training and reflection opportunities for student participants and fellows. Manage the program database to ensure program needs are met and data integrity is maintained. Troubleshoot student placements and implement resolutions. Manage memoranda of understanding with community partner organizations. Hire, train, and supervise student employees and fellows as needed. Support fundraising and donor relations efforts as needed.
Implement assessment practices for the program.
Manage and collect all data relevant to AE student, faculty, and community partner organization assessment. Support the DCESL in ICJE and University assessment efforts. Support general community-engaged learning assessment processes.
Contribute to the broader work the Division.
Support the DCESL in development of community-engaged learning goals and objectives as part of the Ignatian Center's Strategic Plan. Support community-engaged learning on-campus and community-based events. Contribute to discussions, activities and other events appropriate to Division staff.
E. Represent the Division in events and programs pertinent to the portfolio.
Regularly attend SCU campus-wide, staff-wide, and academic programming events to represent Ignatian Spirituality perspectives, to form relationships to support engagement with Ignatian Spirituality, and to inform Ignatian Spirituality programming, including some events that may be held outside of regular business hours.

E. QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The items below are representative of the knowledge, skills, abilities, education, and experience required or preferred.
1.Skills
Demonstrated outstanding organizational and project management skills and data management acuity required. Demonstrated knowledge of MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint, GoogleDocs, Adobe Acrobat Pro required Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, PeopleSoft, and Concur skills preferred. Demonstrated strong communication and verbal/written influencing skills required.
2.Knowledge
Familiarity with educational context required, familiarity with Jesuit, Catholic or other faith-based education preferred. Familiarity with volunteer programs, community based organizations and/or non-profits preferred. Understanding of community-engaged learning in higher education preferred.
3.Abilities
Demonstrated ability to drive projects from inception to completion. Excellent judgment, attention to detail, and ability to be self-directed. Demonstrated ability to build and manage effective working relationships with internal and external constituencies. Ability to work non-traditional hours. Valid U.S. Driver's License.
4.Education
Bachelor's degree required; graduate degree preferred.
5.Years of Experience
3-5 years of work in a student services-related field.
