Position Type: Fixed Term (Fixed Term)
Salary Range:
$58,520 - $67,260 annually; commensurate with experie

POSITION PURPOSE
Reporting to the Director of Marketing & Communications, the Assistant Director of Marketing & Communications will play a key role in all SCU Online graduate programs marketing initiatives. The Assistant Director is responsible for planning, developing and implementing SCU Online's marketing strategies and activities through print, digital, web design, and social media, to effectively promote the University's image and online programs.
They will assist the SCU Online unit by overseeing project management and all communication across Santa Clara's 6 graduate schools and marketing vendors. Additionally, the Assistant Director will be responsible for managing social platforms, web coordination/development, asset creation for digital ads, & copywriting for social, web, and print.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Internal Communications
Produce, write, proof, edit and facilitate communications for SCU internal channels such as emails, meetings, & project management between SCU Online team & graduate school representatives.
Ensure that internal communication is clear and consistent – disseminating information, as needed, to all SCU Online constituents.
Oversee the master editorial calendar, as well as report unique news events as they arise.
Collaborate with University Marketing & Communications to meet deadlines and create branded assets.
2. Digital Platforms
Develop, implement and maintain web pages and websites, ranging from a specific event page to a department or center's site using HTML, T4, and WordPress. Working with the Director, drive web usability that evaluates website structure, content, and accessibility to ensure user-friendly customer journey.
Assist graduate school staff with updating and maintaining their websites.
Utilizing various graduate school social media channels, create assets (imagery, captions, etc.), and monitor campaigns to ensure optimal performance.
Develop and publish content on web pages, social media platforms, and more; identify and source appropriate visuals to support written content.
Ensure all SCU Online programs are using the latest social platform to interact and connect with current and former students, faculty & staff.
Assist in overseeing all school-specific social platforms when launching online programs. Ensure schools are using consistent messaging and dissemination of information throughout all mediums.
4. External Relations
In collaboration with the Director, market and showcase all emerging SCU Online programs to potential students.
Produce write, proof, edit and publish content (such as press releases) for all SCU Online initiatives and external channels.
Oversee relationships and communication with various marketing vendors.
Ensure marketing campaign data metrics are provided to SCU Online and review the ROI for all external relationships.
5. Marketing of SCU Online
In collaboration with Dir. of Marketing & Communication, design and lead marketing strategy plans for the promotion, recruitment, and growth of the school's online programs on the local, national and global stage.
Develop and implement marketing strategies alongside Director and school-specific representatives.
Facilitate web creation, web design, and user experience for emerging online program sites and landing pages.
Work directly with program directors to create, implement and execute marketing plans to support their goals across admissions, career services, and program management.
Document and promote successes of students, alumni, faculty, and online programming.

4. Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree required in marketing, communications or related field, and 3 years of work experience required
