QA Engineering Manager

Reporting to the Quality Director, the Quality Manager is responsible for the following:

Manage the activities of the team, responsible for staffing decisions and performance management of staff ensuring objectives are met. Manager will also assist in conducting compliance audits. Assists the quality organization as required in gathering data, analyzing data, and providing recommendations for quality improvement.

The Quality Engineering Manager is required to establish QE Leads for each area within the facility to monitor, develop, train, and report daily activities as well as directed activities to management. The manager will support, monitor, and drive quality within the QE group. This manager will identify weaknesses within the various QE groups and establish training programs tailored to aiding in resolving these weaknesses. This position will drive accountability within the group while establishing a strong, positive, and driven team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage the Quality Engineering Team, is responsible for staffing decisions and performance management/reporting of staff ensuring objectives are met
• Drive lean six sigma initiatives, RCCA, and lean within the groups
• Monitor, track, and report to director KPI and key quality
• Directly interface with Customer Quality Teams in response to quality issues, improvement initiatives, PFMEA activities, and reporting.
• Support and drive continuous improvement efforts.
• Develop and revise reports, procedures and documents including Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis (PFMEA), Quality Control plans and Contract Review documents.
• Perform data analysis and trends identification on in-process and finished products, to drive root cause and corrective/preventive actions
• Participate in the Failure Reporting Analysis And Corrective Action System (FRACAS) root cause and corrective action process for customer returns
• Perform Material Review Board dispositions on suspected material
  Supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) activities

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or similar technical discipline and/or combination of experience and education.
• Minimum 12 years experience as a Quality Engineer Manager in a manufacturing environment; preferably in the electronic manufacturing industry
• Six Sigma green projects and lean events is preferred but not required
• Familiar with standards/specifications/regulatory compliance, including government.
• Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact and communicate
• Ability to read and interpret part specific technical prints and drawings
• Solid experience with standard quality tools and documentation (SPC, MSA, FMEA, Control Plans, Six Sigma, Pareto Analysis, APQP, PPAP, ISO9001/IATF16949)
• Ability to translate customer quality requirements into executable plans
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
• Familiarity with Agile and/or Oracle Databases and their use is highly desirable
