Specializing in precision machining and metal fabrication, our Sanmina Newark, California facility has 15 years experience in both precision and large format solutions for industrial, semiconductor, clean technology and oil & gas markets. We provide comprehensive engineering and test capabilities: from in-house and hydrostatic leak-testing of medium and large format vacuum chambers to machining of precision stainless steel mechanisms. We have the capacity to machine components up to 3 meters. Our metal fabrication services include grinding, vacuum welding, heat treating, plating and anodizing. We can process many advanced materials, including aluminum, stainless steel, plastics, ferrous-nonferrous and other exotic alloys

Nature of Duties/Responsibilities:

The Senior Buyer is responsible for the planning and procurement of goods and services to support manufacturing and other operations.

• Works closely with Manufacturing and others departments in support of all procurement requirements.
• Negotiate with suppliers to achieve the best overall value.
• Monitors inventory levels to determine required demand and adequate stock levels.
• Communicates and works with the Accounting Department on any payable issues.
• Responsible for optimizing material costs through vendor analysis, quality, schedule, cost evaluation, etc.
• Pursues aggressive efforts to achieve challenging goals and objectives.
• Ready to dedicate significant time and effort to reach them.
• Be prepared and comfortable to wear multiple hats.
• Perform RFQ and RFI tasks as daily tasks and deliver results punctually.
• Able to work with teams across different functions, such as planning, PM, shipping, and production.
• Multitasking by attending multiple meetings.
• Establishes a highly concentrated and goal-driven approach to work.
• Establish and maintain a relationship with vendors.
• Acknowledge monthly PCARD reconciliation.
• Acknowledge troubleshooting variances and discrepancies.
• Acknowledge procurement different types: Indirect, direct, and services.
• Able to perform buying office supplies as required beside supporting customers with daily product lines.
• Understand the bill of materials, drawings, and specifications deeply.
• Have experience with Oracle MRP or a similar program.
• Have experience with Agile PLM or a similar program.
• Monitors all open PO to ensure timely deliveries (OTD)
• Collaborate with the Stockroom and Planning team to handle shipment potential problems as required.
• Utilizes the MRP system to procure materials that are consistent with quality and delivery expectations.
• As required, executes replacement materials for RTV or RMA.
• Managing cross-functional supplier management activities while receiving minimal supervision;
• Provide overview of materials status to management as needed.
• Prepares and presents information to cross-functional audience including management.
• Ability to effectively communicate through strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Manages multiple tasks, prioritizes, and meets deadlines in a timely manner.
• Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.
• Experience managing workloads in a high-volume dynamic environment is preferred.
• Understand terminology such as MRP, NPI, FAI, CTB, AVL, OTD, OSP…etc
• Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in contracts, pricing, and specifications.
• Problem-solving skills to address issues and find creative solutions.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in related field
• 2-3 years of experience.
• Electronics industry procurement experience preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills. 
• Strong negotiating, decision-making, and sourcing skills required.
• APICS certification or training preferred.
• Competency in Excel to create and manage large data sets with V-look up and Pivot tables required.
• Oracle manufacturing systems experience preferred.
• Internet proficiency (supplier and inventory searching) highly desirable.
• Familiarity with government FAR and DFAR requirements desirable.
• Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to multitask.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint, ect). 
• Team Player.

Salary Range (annual): $68,000 - $80,000
