TEK Group is Hiring a Buyer/Planner Near Fremont, CA

Position Summary:

  • Supply planning and inventory management responsibilities: Responsible for planning all aspects of production using an MRP II Database. Initiate work orders and maintain an accurate database.
  • Includes interaction with other departments to ensure that company objectives are met for business revenues and customer satisfaction.
  • Run meetings to update management. Work on complex analysis to determine situations to ensure the most cost-effective means of manufacturing.
  • Perform outbound & inbound material handling, cycle counting, and maintaining a clean and safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the filing and packing scheduling process, ensuring accurate and timely execution.
  • Prioritize the scheduling of orders based on customer requirements, production capacity, and inventory levels.
  • Collaborate with value stream cross-functional teams to follow up on bulk schedule and ensure timely availability of necessary materials and resources.
  • Monitor and analyze production data to identify scheduling bottlenecks and optimize efficiency.
  • Coordinate with relevant departments to resolve any scheduling conflicts or issues that may arise.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date scheduling records and documentation.
  • Maintains the MRP, production plan, and planning parameters for established products.
  • Monitors production plans/forecasts and recommends management changes.
  • Support interdepartmental communication relating to several groups such as Planning, value stream leaders, Inventory Control, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Customer Service, and Shipping
  • Track/expedite critical raw materials shortage with purchasing/receiving/RMQC that prevent Work orders from starting on time.
  • Act on ERP recommendations and exceptions, internal business knowledge (Forecasts), current inventory levels, and product lead time; to initiate, schedule, and maintain work orders.
  • Able to estimate lead time based on knowledge of product build difficulties, expected true lead time, and potential roadblocks.
  • Responsible for preparing information and data for tiered meetings.
  • Responsible for ISO and QSR compliance and improvement initiatives within the reporting department.
  • Responsible for meeting key metrics and goals to ensure stated service and inventory levels are maintained while minimizing backorders.
  • Interface with manufacturing managers/supervisors to coordinate and prioritize product availability to support desired service levels.
  • Be a key point of contact for work order issue resolution.
  • Performs other related duties and assignments as required.
  • Proactively managing inventory levels based on different service levels.
  • Perform planning duties as assigned by the supervisor or as required to meet the needs of the job.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Life Science, supply chain or Business-related degree
  • Minimum 5-7 years of related experience in production or supply planning, in the medical device or pharmaceutical industry is required.
  • Experience with Inventory Control is highly preferred
  • Familiarity with an ERP system, QAD or SAP, is required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Detail-oriented individual with a strong ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Interacts equally well with all employees utilizing strong interpersonal skills
  • Intermediate Excel and PowerPoint skills.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $32.00 - $36.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday

Experience:

  • Supply chain management: 7 years (Preferred)
  • Pharmaceutical industry: 3 years (Preferred)
  • life science: 2 years (Preferred)
  • Biotechnology industry: 4 years (Preferred)
