JOB DESCRIPTION (Insert hPosition/Title: Assistant General Manager
Reports To: DC General Manager
Location: Distribution Center
Supervision: Shift Manager(s)/Production Supervisor(s)/Staff
FLSA Status: Salaried, ExemptGrade Level:Position Summary: The Assistant General Manager contributes to the development and tactical execution of Distribution Center (DC) strategic building objectives. This role will drive all aspects of processes and operations to include, but not limited to planning, organizing, and overseeing the receiving, storage, and shipping functions to ensure a smooth and consistent operation while effectively satisfying customer needs. The Assistant Manager plans and directs DC activity to attain business objectives through cost reduction, productivity improvement, risk mitigation, and strategic compliance.

- Monitors and evaluates effectiveness of DC operations and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of operations.
- Monitors shipping function from the DC to ensure that products are delivered in an accurate and timely manner.
- Allocate and manage resources according to changing needs and demands.
- Incorporate safety into daily work ethic, team leadership, and DC operations and processes.
- Optimize process efficiency through the use of continuous improvement methodologies and tools to develop and maintain DC operational effectiveness.
- Works closely with peers and employees to improve work relationships, improve the employee experience, increase productivity and improve retention.
- Responsible for supervision of shift managers/supervisors within the DC.
- Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
- Participates in recruiting efforts by conducting interviews and providing hiring recommendations.
- Contributes to annual performance reviews ensuring professional development and training to enhance team and individual competencies and skill sets. Provide continual feedback on both positive and negative performance.
- Maintain safe, neat, and clean work area by adhering to SanMar safety regulations
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:- 2 years in a lead or supervisor position strongly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required.
- Should be able to read, write, and have sufficient ability to identify colors, sizes, quantity, label and SKU information and verbally communicate with customers.
- Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus.
Physical Demands:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly required to walk and stand. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, handle or feel, to pull/push, cart with product, grasp and perform repetitive hand, wrist and arm motions. The employee is frequently required to climb, kneel/squat, bend and carry. The employee occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 50 pounds, and seldom lifts and/or moves up to 60 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:Work environment is moderately noisy. The employee is occasionally required to work near conveyor systems. There is exposure to dust and changes in weather conditions. Employee must be able to work in a high-volume, high-demand environment while meeting strenuous customer deadlines. Employee must be able to change priorities or job duties as needed and interact with employees at all levels.
