Job Summary

Implement new or updated programs or portions of large scale clinical initiatives. Project impact costs, quality, efficiencies and achievement of objectives across departments, often with enterprise-wide impacts. Apply advanced technical and clinical knowledge to solve complex problems which may impact service lines or corporate service or regional entity.

Oversee inpatient and outpatient services related to women's and children's services, including the children's hospital, neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), pediatrics, pediatric intensive care unit (PICU), newborn nursery, postpartum, perinatal community services, labor and delivery, high risk obstetrics (HROB) and operating room/outpatient (OR/OP) perinatal services, women's and community program, family daycare network, neonatal nurse practitioners, child's voice, children's camping programs and other services, departments or functions, as defined by the enterprise.

Collaborate with leaders to plan, organize, direct and operationalize clinical services and functions. Participate in the development and successful integration of strategic planning, physician relationships and delivery of outcome-based patient care.

Assure the appropriate philosophy, goals and objectives for each department or function supervised, and that they remain consistent with the overall mission, values and strategic plan for women's and children's services and the enterprise. Ensure the adequate delivery of quality outcome-based care for all areas of responsibility.

Lead in improving measurable outcomes, including customer satisfaction, employee satisfaction, quality indicators, financial and productivity targets, and in meeting or exceeding regulatory, compliance and accreditation standards.

Follow issues, opportunities and threats related to all areas of responsibility, and proactively facilitate actions to ensure stability, growth, customer satisfaction and market dominance.

Participate in local, state, regional and national activities that enable services, departments and the enterprise to grow, plan for and adapt to changes within the health care market environment.

Qualifications

Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Health Administration (MHA) or a master's degree in a related field.

Minimum of ten years of experience in a licensed or degreed position in a health care or business related position and at least five years of progressive management experience at the department director level or above and a history of measurable success in managing complex departments, functions and services in a competitive environment required.

Must maintain any certification or licensure in state(s) of practice and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges as required. Membership in a professional healthcare management organization, such as American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) preferred.
