Sandia Laboratory Federal Credit Union is Hiring a Project Coordinator Near Albuquerque, NM

Description

Works with SLFCU’s Project Management Officer and Project Managers to maintain and administer SLFCU’s Project Management tool. Facilitates ongoing project statistic reporting and directly and indirectly supports the logistics of cross-functional teams to facilitate the on-time delivery of multiple cross-functional projects of moderate to high complexity. Works to deliver on the Project Management Office’s mission of being Proactive, Strategic, Structured, and Nimble. Fosters a productive, rewarding, team-oriented work environment that meets all established goals and operates within the Credit Union’s core values.

  • Maintain user information in the project management platform (creating new profiles, deactivating, etc.); ongoing administration; creating follow-ups and new collaboration/project tabs; working with project management system vendor to maximize effectiveness/feature functionality of PM tool. 
  • Schedule project meetings in accordance with PMO, PM and/or project team lead identified needs (to include determining availability of stakeholders, drafting agendas in support of project progress, etc.).
  • Capture meeting minutes and follow-ups during project meetings, uploading into SLFCU’s project management tool, and disseminating minutes/follow-ups to team members to facilitate clarity around work to be done, decisions to be made, etc.
  • Facilitate critical ongoing project health/status reporting (ex. – Monthly Project Update Summary, monthly portfolio statistics, weekly Past Due Follow-up reminder process).
  • Support and compile project milestone check-in activities such as mid project reviews and lessons learned/AARs facilitated by PMO/PM.
  • Support logistics for project celebrations.
  • Maintain PM knowledge base (ex. – entries, share drive structure and organization/project folders, maintenance of Project Management Office documentation of charter, tools, key processes, etc.).
  • Promote the service and sales culture by maintaining thorough knowledge of products and services. 

Requirements

Experience and Knowledge:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience participating in and/or leading small to medium cross-functional projects
  • Minimum 1 year experience using project management tools and systems preferred
  • Prior credit union \ financial institution experience preferred
  • Strong documentation skills
  • High level of competence with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience taking clear, detailed minutes in fast-paced, complex conversation/meetings
  • Experience with basic project management strategies, practices, etc.
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability and courage to ask relevant clarifying questions
  • Demonstrated ability to make connections between related project follow-ups, decisions, meetings, etc. 
  • Understanding of basic statistical concepts as they relate to business needs.
  • Familiarity with one or more Quality/continuous improvement approaches (i.e. Lean, Baldrige, etc.) preferred
  • Understanding of process mapping principles, practices, and tools preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of Credit Union products and services, features, and benefits.

Education:

  • Education equivalent to a two-year college degree in relevant field or equivalent experience. 

Interpersonal Skills:

  • Possesses superior interpersonal skills and excels in providing exceptional service to members and employees.
  • Demonstrates daily the Credit Union’s commitment to maintaining a close and caring touch with its members.
  • Must be a team player/collaborator who can resolve problems with diplomacy and tact.

Communication:

  • Possesses superior communication skills with the ability to prepare and deliver oral and written procedures, reports and presentations.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and communicate processes, procedures, policies and their value to project team members.
  • Demonstrated ability to absorb technical and statistical information quickly and from a variety of sources.

Other Skills:

  • Demonstrates good judgment in problem-solving. Makes sound recommendations and decisions.
  • Adapts easily to frequent change.
  • Exhibits strong organizational skills; is a self-starter who can work autonomously and self-manage his/her workload. Able to prioritize and manage multiple projects and tasks.
  • Exhibits natural curiosity and a desire to be constantly learning.
