OVERALL JOB PURPOSE
In the sales consultant role, you will conduct an in-depth analysis of data, identify sales gaps, enhance skills, and develop comprehensive sales tools. You are expected to deploy advanced selling principles and provide timely sales advice. You will work closely with the retail branch operations team to ensure alignment with our service playbook. Success in this role is demonstrated by providing strategic support and valuable input, helping the overall success of the company in meeting sales objectives. NOTE: Travel is expected 80% of the time for work, which may include going to various locations, such as Santa Fe, resulting in frequent absences from the office.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Actively and regularly participate in team meetings and manager meetings
Identify key areas of improvement in existing sales strategies
Facilitate interactive discussions and mentor branch operations team members
Serve as a primary sales resource and help address team issues
Provide direction for executing policies and strategies
Actively provide feedback and insight relative to the incentive plans
Embrace the teach, show, do, and review concept
Observe team member interactions with members and provide insightful feedback
Embrace the power of debriefing with team members to help self-discover opportunities
Maintain knowledge of business operations and new product offerings
Employ high ethical sales standards
Create comprehensive sales tools and resources to support the sales process
Analyze performance data to identify trends, areas of improvement, and success stories, adjusting coaching strategies accordingly
Present findings and recommendations to senior management to inform strategic decisions and initiatives
Facilitate training sessions for staff on sales techniques and product knowledge
Assist in the creation and implementation of tailored development plans for staff, aligning with credit union objectives and sales targets
Provide personalized guidance and actionable feedback to branch managers, empowering them to support staff toward goal achievement effectively
Conduct one-on-one meetings to review results and create a success plan
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Minimum 5 years of sales and management experience
Outstanding communication skills
Excellent problem-solving skills
Full understanding of cross-selling practice
Ability to set a structured process followed by clear expectations
Must be able to lift up to 10 lbs.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in business-related field and a minimum of three years of financial institution operations experience or 5-7 years of credit union or financial industry experience with the skill set to effectively coach a large team to success.
Knowledge in overall products, loan knowledge and operations.
