Description

Position Title: Director, Corpsmember Support (LCSW)
Division: Education
Department: Corpsmember Support
Reports to: Vice President, Education
FLSA Status: Full-time / Exempt 
Compensation: $105,000 to $130,000 annually, commensurate on experience. 
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm, with occasional weekend work and evening work
Location: This position is 100% in-person, located at 1560 Berger Drive, San Jose, CA 95112. Some presence may be required at our other location at 2650 Senter Road.
Travel: Local travel may be required up to 40% of the time.

Position Summary:

SJCC CS is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Corpsmember Support Director to oversee our Corpsmember Support department. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all Corpsmembers meet with and have access to Support Services in order to proactively address any obstacles that could impede their progress in the program. In order to accomplish this, the Director will supervise a team of staff members and MSW interns and establish and maintain internal and external partnerships. Strong leadership skills and commitment to trauma-informed care and harm reduction practices will be essential in achieving the program's goals and promoting positive outcomes. This position will collaborate with the Job Training and Charter School staff to ensure Corpsmembers receive the help and resources they need, and establish strong external partnerships with community resources that support the personal growth and development of the individuals we serve.

Job Duties:

Program Oversight and Supervision

  • Provide strategic direction and overall management of the program, ensuring compliance with organizational policies, grant requirements, and ethical standards.
  • Provide high quality supervision and mentorship to interns (MSW students) and Success Navigators.
  • Oversee day-to-day operation of the program and provide direct supervision to staff members and MSW interns, including hiring, performance evaluation, and disciplinary actions.
  • Coordinate and ensure the completion of daily program activities, promoting efficient operations and high-quality service delivery.
  • Monitor and support staff compliance with documentation standards, reviewing, evaluating, and co-signing service documentation as necessary.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive work environment, promoting teamwork, open communication, and a culture of respect.

Counseling Services and Case Management

  • Work with direct reports to conduct comprehensive assessments of Corpsmembers' psychosocial needs and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with them and their support systems.
  • Provide direct counseling, therapy, and crisis intervention services to Corpsmembers, helping them implement personal and educational development plans.
  • Provide clinical case management services, including intervention planning, coordination of referrals to relevant agencies and providers, and follow-up support.
  • Act as an advocate and liaison between Corpsmembers and various community program services.
  • Facilitate individual and group counseling sessions, ensuring a strength-based and trauma-informed approach.

Program Development and Partnerships

  • Establish and maintain relationships with university MSW programs to source interns (MSW students)
  • Work closely with the Vice President of Education to develop policies and procedures that align with trauma-informed care and harm reduction practices.
  • Collaborate with Job Training and Charter School administrative staff to provide comprehensive support services to Corpsmembers, including housing, counseling, and community resources.
  • Act as a point of contact for community stakeholders, building and maintaining relationships with counselors, group home leaders, probation officers, etc.
  • Establish partnerships with local resources, coordinating services and designing counseling/mentoring programs through community collaboration.

Documentation and Reporting

  • Manage and oversee the CFET Grant, ensuring accurate recordkeeping, timely reporting and budget spend down.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, ensuring compliance with legal, organizational, and grant requirements.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports on program activities, outcomes, and budget utilization.
  • Participate in meetings, committees, and conferences to represent the program and provide updates on program-related matters.

Salary and Benefits

  • Salary: $105,000-$130,000.Placement on the compensation scale is determined using a number of factors, including the candidate’s level of experience and education that either meets or significantly exceeds the minimum requirements.

Work Environment & Requirements

Position may require prolonged sitting, standing, walking, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, squatting and stooping in the performance of daily activities. The position also requires grasping, repetitive hand movement and fine coordination in using a computer keyboard. The position may require the incumbent to occasionally lift up to 25lbs. Additionally, the position requires far and near vision when reading and using a computer. Acute hearing is required when providing phone and personal service. The nature of the work may require the incumbent to work evenings, weekends and holidays. Some of these requirements may be accommodated for otherwise qualified individuals requiring and requesting such accommodations.

Employment At-Will

The San Jose Conservation Corps Charter School is an “At-Will” employer. This means that employment with SJCC CS is voluntarily entered into and staff members are free to resign at any time. Similarly, SJCC CS may terminate the employment relationship at any time, with or without cause or prior notice, as it deems appropriate. This at-will employment relationship can be changed only in a written agreement signed by the staff member and the Executive Director of SJCC CS.

**SJCC CS IS A MANDATORY COVID-19 VACCINATION EMPLOYER**

All new hires will be required to provide proof of vaccination absent an approved medical or religious exemption prior to their start date. If a new hire is in the process of being vaccinated, their start date may be adjusted to a future date after they have been vaccinated. Fully vaccinated means it has been at least two weeks since the person has completed the entire recommended initial series of a COVID-19 vaccine.

Qualifications


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Social Work.
  • Possess a valid Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) license.
  • 6 years of direct client and/or case management experience in a related field.
  • Strong leadership and management experience, with a minimum of 2 years of experience with direct supervision over staff.
  • Previous experience running an effective program to meet agency contract requirements.
  • Cultural knowledge of key populations that will be served to address disparities in specific services
  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate and effectively interact with people across cultures, ranges of ability, genders, ethnicities, and races.

Driving Record and Requirements: If the position is offered and accepted, candidates must submit a copy of their DMV driver’s record. The candidate also must possess and continue to maintain a valid California Class C driver’s license and a clean driving record.
