The salary range for this position is $5,546.67 - $8,346.00 per mo. This position starting range is budgeted at $6,933.20/pm. and is non-negotiable.
Under immediate supervision, incumbents perform a variety of duties in support of the day-to-day operations of a program/project; interpret and apply specific procedures in organizing, monitoring, and performing the operational or research activities of the program/project; facilitate the accomplishment of the work of the program/project organization through providing, obtaining, and/or coordinating information or services and integrating them with the functions of the program/project; monitor or mentor groups, and perform related duties as required. Examples of PSI responsibilities may represent a combination of a variety of functions requiring the application of very specialized knowledge.
Work to provide Liaison role with San Diego County, Health and Human Services, Child and Family Well Being and SDSU School of Social Work Title IV-E Program to fulfill Field Practicum role and coordination and Title IV-E Child Welfare Stipend Program guidelines.
Overall coordination and extensive tracking system of SDSU SSW Interns and Field Instructors in the greater San Diego HHSA regions. Will coordinate planning, development, and service delivery of Title IV-E Child Welfare competencies with the Title IV-E Project Coordinator.
Responsibilities:
The Program Specialist I role is responsible for but not limited to:
Participates in the placement process for IV-E MSW and BASW, in accordance with school policies and procedures. Identifies, recruits, screens, develops and evaluates prospective CWS programs and field instructors for IV-E programs as assigned. Provides trainings and CWS meetings to discuss and interpret SDSU School of Social policies and procedures, field instruction, and supervision methods. Provides ongoing consultation and collaboration with CWS/field instructors to discuss school curriculum, policies and requirements, mediate problems, and enhance the effectiveness of the field instruction experience and the integration of classroom learning for Title IV-E students’ progress. Liaisons with the county and community child welfare agencies to ensure assessment of interns' learning and to maintain communication in providing input and feedback for the IV- E program. Recruits, screens, interviews, and assigns Title IV-E Interns in CWS, in collaboration with Title IV-E Project Coordinator. Reports to the Title IV-E Coordinator in planning and implementing educational experiences and learning activities, specifically ensuring child welfare competencies. Monitors, evaluates liability, and risk management issues for students and agencies. Collaborates in the interviewing and selection of Title IV- E stipend recipients at SDSU. Provides field administration tasks and updates as required. Participates in School, and IV-E meetings and events as required.
