If you possess the skills to inspire and lead with a servant-heart and is a strategic thinker who can rally teams to engage with the community and foster relationships that speak to the hearts of our donors through acts of generosity, then the San Diego Rescue Mission invites you to join our team as the Director of Donor Relations.

As the Director of Donor Relations, you will be an integral part of our Development Team, playing a pivotal role in developing and executing our fundraising strategy. Your primary responsibilities will include cultivating donor relationships, providing accountability, and setting the direction for our donor programs. You will serve as a strong coach and visionary leader, taking our donor strategies to new heights and supporting the overall efforts of our Development Team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a spiritual leader within the Development Team, offering coaching and pastoral support to your teammates.
  • Lead and inspire the Donor Officers team to achieve fundraising goals and objectives.
  • Oversee the Major Donor program, Middle Donor program, and Planned Giving program, ensuring growth and success.
  • Play a vital role in building the donor cultivation efforts of the San Diego Rescue Mission.
  • Plan and execute strategic donor events to engage and foster relationships with major donors and key partners.

  • Always demonstrate Christ-centered behavior by treating people with dignity, respect, compassion, and integrity.
  • A deep commitment to the mission and values of the San Diego Rescue Mission.
  • Proven experience in fundraising, including major donor cultivation and planned giving.
  • Exceptional leadership and coaching skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute donor strategies that drive results.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, both within the organization and with external stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A servant-hearted approach to leadership, with a passion for making a positive impact in the community.
