Roles and Responsibilities:
Job Summary/Overview:
The Senior Technician is responsible for performing technical tasks in support of the operation and maintenance of utility systems, Fab support equipment, building maintenance or chemical and gas delivery equipment. Activities include review of construction, design, and specification documentation, the startup and operation of facilities, mechanical, chemical, waste and electrical systems. In addition, performs general maintenance and repair as required, and monitors for equipment efficiencies. Requires compliance with all health, safety and environmental management system guidelines.
Specific Job Duties:
Completes tasks in innovative and effective ways
Performs Advanced Preventative/ Corrective Maintenance: Develops new methods for corrective maintenance/repairs. Tasked with completing PM/CPM improvement projects
Identifies areas of business process improvement opportunities and provides input as to which improvement projects need to be pursued
Troubleshoots, down to root cause, highly complex issues that lower level technicians are unable to resolve
Decides which type of maintenance is needed, selects parts for replacement
Reviews and submits vendor invoices and payments
Mentors/trains lower level technicians
Understands interactions with other departments in activities such as maintenance scheduling
Leads pass down and other meetings
May participate on cross-functional teams
Serves as liaison between senior staff and other technicians – communicates and represents SAS company initiatives
EHS: Able to lead through Incident Command System
May conduct and/or oversee routine inspections and investigations
Interprets complex data from equipment, processes etc.
Interprets issues/questions regarding schematics, diagrams, written/verbal instructions, layouts or defined plans
Applies knowledge of relevant best practices, state and local code in area of expertise
Regular attendance and timeliness is required per departmental guidelines
Shift: A Shift (Sunday-Tuesday and alternating Wednesdays (Days 7am-7pm)
Skills and Qualifications:
Education, Training, Certification(s) and Minimum years of experience required:
High School Diploma or technical school certification preferred
Typically requires 8-15 years of experience
Semiconductor or high-volume manufacturing experience preferred
EHS position – OSHA 30 hours at minimum, preferred experience with manufacturing or construction environment, and two years of related experience either in safety or emergency response
May require trade knowledge in a specialized field
May require a specific license (dependent on individual position)

Advanced electro mechanical knowledge
Maintains confidentiality of sensitive and proprietary information
Able to work in a team environment
Understands manufacturing systems
Effectively communicates via verbal/written means to immediate team and other SAS departments
Advanced knowledge of relevant SAS systems
Has advanced knowledge of relevant software tools (i.e., Programable Logic Controller, Microsoft etc.)
Ability to work flexible hours as necessary
Intermediate knowledge in relevant code regulations
Ability to work independently within the broad scope of an objective
Intermediate knowledge of mentoring, coaching and leading groups/people
May require the ability to maintain a state license as necessary (i.e., journeyman)
