About the role:

In this role you’ll lead a team to build and launch a new product. You will work closely with your product partner to build features that help our customers operate more efficiently. You will collaborate with senior engineers to design an architecture that can scale to thousands of customer organizations and be highly reliable and available. And you will hire a team of world-class engineers.

In this role, you will:

• Hire a team of world-class engineers
• Create a team culture of high standards, moving fast, openness and collaboration
• Iterate quickly on early customer feedback
• Guide architectural decisions to build scalable, reliable software for the long term
• Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices
• Hire, develop and lead an inclusive, engaged, and high performing team

Minimum requirements for the role:

• Experience building scalable, mission-critical SaaS applications
• Experience operating, maintaining, and improving upon large-scale application services
• Strong interpersonal communication skills (including listening, speaking, and writing) and ability to work well in a diverse, team-focused environment
• Strong track record of delivering products and features that customers love
• Proven record of attracting top talent and coaching the team
• 8 years of relevant software engineering work experience
• 5 years of hands-on technical management experience
• 1 years of experience managing managers

An ideal candidate also has:

• B.S. in Computer Science or related technical discipline
• Experience working with AI teams
