Summary:
Sama Healthcare has an opening for a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Medical Assistant to work at our Primary/Urgent Care clinic. You will support providers and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication. The target is to complete all activities accurately and in a timely manner.
Responsibilities:
· Check-in patient and verify their insurance
· Interview patients, measure vital signs and record information in patient charts
· Prepare treatment rooms and patients for examination
· Perform blood draws and basic lab tests
· Administer vaccines to adults and children
· Clean and sterilize instruments
· Check inventory and order medical supplies and materials
· Operate electrocardiograph (EKG) and other equipment to administer routine diagnostic tests
Requirements:
· Associate's degree or equivalent from an accredited Medical Assistant training program
· Have one year experience as MA
· Knowledge and experience with Electronic Medical Records
· Knowledge of Microsoft Word
· Strong written and oral skills
· Phlebotomy skills
· Team player
· Ability to work independently
Preferred Qualifications:
· Certification as a Medical Assistant from the American Academy of Medical
Assistants
· Phlebotomy certificate
Job Type: Part-time (2-3 days/week)
Clinic Hours: Monday - Friday 12 pm - 6 pm & Saturday 11 am - 5 pm
Salary: $22 /hour
