DREAM JOB ALERT!

How ‘bout we skip right ahead to the center of the tootsie-pop?
We are biased — but we are pretty sure we are the coolest place to work for in holistic, functional medicine and this is one of the coolest MApositions you'll find. Our private clinics are located in Minnetonka and Oakdale, MN and we really believe that we are changing the world (see what we mean when you check out our testimonial page on our website!).

Honestly, the job is not all roses, puppy dogs or cute kittens — there is some good news and there is some bad news.

Let’s get the bad news out of the way first:

  • Point 1. The pay sucks. Meaning, you won’t get rich at this job and we just can’t compete with big healthcare. We aren't grant funded or government funded. The starting pay is $26/hour and working here is a calling. However, if you are seeking a job to support a huge household(s) then this is no longer the "coolest" Medical Assistant (MA) job ever, it is now the “suckiest” Medical Assistant (MA) job ever.
  • Point 2. Carefully review Point 1.

Now let’s talk about the good stuff:

1. Our offices are on the first floor. Minnetonka is at the back of the building with an overlook of woods and water. Amazing cardio is available walking around the hallways every day - yeah, that’s right, basically a free gym membership comes with the job and you can walk outside. Actually – the Minnetonka clinic does have a gym in the building for your use – FREE. Oakdale clinic is also on the first floor with a great outdoor walking area that is safe and views overlook trees and water.

2. The work is fun, fresh and dynamic. Something you've never experienced before. You will be working directly with patients - hands on care, mix of phlebotomy, teaching/coaching, treatments/procedures - lots of those and fun projects for growth, how to make things better and did we mention patient teaching/coaching.

3. We aren’t big on stress or drama. So, while we will expect you to work efficiently and get things done quickly, we focus on open communication and getting things done right the first go around. Who has time to redo your work?

4. The hours are full-time but can be flexible if you need part-time at this time in your life. We will work to help you create a work/life blend, not work/life balance - but a beautiful blend. No nights, holidays or weekends so can enjoy your family.

5. You will experience & learn things, do things, and help make decisions that no big stuffy healthcare company would ever allow you to do (of course - within the scope of your license - safety first!). You will be able to plan and prioritize your day to create the best patient experiences and outcomes for those under your care while supporting the staff.

6. After a year here, you get to share in our profits. Yes, profit is not a dirty word. After 12 months, all our employees who have worked here for more than one year get to share in our company growth. We actually share!

7. You don’t need to be skilled at roller blading, laser tag, pickleball, escape rooms, dressing up and dancing or give a 30-minute speech (btw... we lost at the room escaping thing), but you will likely be doing some of these things. Every few months we do something fun as a team. Team bonding is really really important for us.

Now, let’s talk about the job requirements:

1. You need to be the type of person who gets joy out of getting things done in a timely manner. Every day, you will complete a list of tasks, treatments and procedures. Important! Necessary! Fun hands on stuff.

2. You will be on the computer. So, an understanding of EMRs, email, navigating the internet, research and other computer-based stuff will be necessary.

3. You will be on the phone a lot. NOT your cell phone, but the clinic phones. In fact, we have a NO PERSONAL cell phone policy. So, you need to enjoy talking with people, teaching/coaching and relaying providers orders – more than once, phlebotomy, room and chart readiness. Remember we’re dealing with people who have unbalanced hormones (like brain fog) who need a LOT of patience and extraordinary understanding.

4. You need to be a person who loves to deliver remarkable experiences to other people. You know, you need to be someone who feels really good by making other people feel good.

5. You need to nail down the details with a little hustle. You don’t need to race through work and get things done half-baked (we figured that one out ourselves). We need you to slow things down and get them done right the first time.

6. We want you to be meticulous in your work. If you are shy or quiet but super friendly (which sounds perfect for us) that is totally cool. We are not looking for drama, the life of the party or a chatty Cathie…in fact, quite the opposite. We are looking for a good humored person, who gets shitake done. (Oh and we occasionally tell jokes…not much…but sometimes - life is long and you have to LOVE what you are doing).

In short, your job is to help patients and the team in any way you can. And to have fun along the way and experience JOY at work (who wants a job that is a drag?!?). Our clinic office is business casual/scrubs (we pay for your scrubs), and we do expect professionalism and punctuality.

We don’t expect is perfection for you to qualify for this job. What we do isn’t taught in nursing school...yet. We will teach you the necessary skills for treatments/procedures. But you do need to love doing treatments/procedures including phlebotomy and patient teaching. We expect emotional intelligence, energy, and a get-it-done attitude. When you have questions, we'll find the answers together - not alone - we help each other.

To learn more about us, check out www.medstudio.com.

If this is a job that gets you so excited that you would even do it for free, which we would totally accept that offer from you. But if you prefer compensation (and we totally get it…we prefer getting paid as well) this is what we can offer: This is a full/part-time licensed practical nurse (LPN) position. The pay starts at $26 per hour and the hours will be up to 40 hours a week if full time. You must come into our Minnetonka and/or Oakdale, MN clinic location (this is not a virtual sit at home job). There is a health insurance allowance and employee pricing on products/services amongst a few other things.

In addition to being a detailed person, you must follow systems and processes. In fact, just to prove that you are detail-oriented and can follow directions, when you apply for this position in the subject line of the email you must include “I have found my type of people” in the subject line and email your resume directly to info@medstudio.com, not just submitting it through Indeed. Yep, that’s our little trick to sort out the people who "blanket send" their resume to anyone and everyone, from the folks (that’s you) who are truly interested in this position.

We are looking to bring our new colleague on board as soon as possible, but we will spend the necessary time to find the best fit both in abilities and vibe. One thing that will give you a HUGE leg up (but is optional) is to send a quick video along with your resume (in fact, everyone who works here did this) to info@medstudio.com. In your video (less than 3 minutes) tell us why you think you’re perfect for this job and why you will rock this position. This is purely for us to get a sense of your personality and vibe. We are not looking for what you might think we are looking for. And if you decide not to send a video, please tell us why you chose not to send in a video. A detailed job description is available for viewing at your interview.

We can’t wait to meet you!!!

Oh, and one last thought - Road construction combined with Minnesota winters are always a challenge. Your first patient will be ready and waiting to greet you promptly at 8:00 am each day (which means you need to be at the clinic by 7:45 am).

DO NOT apply if you live more than 25 minutes away from either clinic location unless you LOVE commuting. Patients need you to show up happy - no matter what!
