Salisbury University, a member of the University System of Maryland, is a regionally accredited four-year comprehensive institution offering 62 distinct graduate and undergraduate programs. Located on the historic Eastern Shore, SU's beautiful campus is some 30 miles from the Atlantic beaches and 2.5 hours from Baltimore and Washington, D.C.

Salisbury University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Administrative Assistant II in the Seidel School of Education based on Salisbury University’s main campus.

Primary Job Duties: Under general supervision, provides complex administrative support and a full range of administrative assistance to the (50%) Department of Education Leadership, (30%) programs offered at Eastern Shore Higher Education Center, and (20%) Seidel Dean’s office. The work location for this position will be on the main campus of Salisbury University. Duties include, but are not limited to, front-desk customer service, phone coverage, recording/disseminating minutes of department meetings, supporting departmental committee work, tracking records for academic program review and accreditation purposes, preparing purchase requisitions/general work orders, tracking and reporting department budgets and professional funds, complete expense reports, and travel requests and perform administrative follow-up, create hard copy and digital files and records, schedule events and activities. Responsible for creating/maintaining class schedules, tracking student compliance with program requirements, process incoming student applications/scholarships. Assist with planning departmental and campus events.

Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED. 3 years of direct administrative support experience. Skills in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Publisher.

General knowledge of and skill in practical application of generally accepted office practices and procedures. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to proofread and edit written documents. Skill in various computer software packages, such as word processing, spreadsheets, database, and presentation programs. Internet, email and calendaring software. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Ability to interact effectively with internal and external parties in a courteous and efficient manner.

Excellent interpersonal, customer service, administrative skills; attention to detail; ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and execute multiple tasks/projects simultaneously and work well under pressure, demonstrate initiative, project a professional image, and work independently or as part of a team.

Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and execute multiple and continuing assignments with general instructions. Ability to project a professional and positive image of the department, school, and institution.

Work requires ability to develop a comprehensive knowledge of one academic department and two satellite programs and will work with policies, procedures, and confidential matters while exercising tact, discretion, and good judgment.

Preferred Qualifications: Associate or Bachelor's degree and 5 years of experience preferred. Experience with PeopleSoft and Microsoft Teams is preferred.

This is a full-time, non-exempt, Contingent II (long-term contractual), position with a limited benefits package including medical, prescription, dental, paid leave, tuition remission, and more. Starting salary will be $19.47 per hour which is approximately $40,609.00 annually.
