Saliense has a new opportunity for a Cloud Security Engineer (AWS) to support the Office of Naval Research in Arlington, VA.

This is a hybrid position requiring 3 days/week onsite in Arlington, VA.

The Engineer will assist the Office of Naval Research establish an information technology network operation center (NSOC). The Cloud Security Engineer will directly support the Network Operations Team working in collaboration with the Information Assurance (IA)/Cybersecurity/Computer Network Defense (CND) Team to perform network operations functions in support of the security information and event management (SIEM) tasks.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Responsibilities Include:

• Manages the ‘system of systems’ architecture development and application interfaces/interoperability concerns.
• Systematically reviews all existing processes and procedures and implements innovative changes to meet and exceed service level agreements.
• Manages engineering team responsible for systems engineering, security engineering, and workstation and server vulnerability remediation and patch management.
• Provides expert technical support, administration, and engineering on all Microsoft Windows and Server Operating Systems.
• Troubleshoots and resolves systems problems to ensure system availability.
• Leads and performs changes to OS, databases, applications, servers, storage, network, and backups as well as development environments.
• Manages the configuration, administration, upgrade, and maintenance of corporate and DR servers and related infrastructure as well as the Storage Environment.
• Experience anticipating future network requirements, researching and analyzing emerging technologies and applying them to business need.
• Maintains awareness of system management and network monitoring and the operational support tools to maintain those functions.
• Works with server patch management processes and procedures to facilitate deployment.
• Provides for the management, testing, and installation of security patches and cyber security products.
• Maintains systems integrity through change control and problem management procedures and communication with internal customers.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related IT field
• Ten (10) or more years of experience related to cloud and/or on-premise infrastructure management including enterprise system design and administration and strategy
• Hands-on experience supporting AWS environment administration and utilizing AWS administrator portal for managing and monitoring technical assets and cost reporting
• Experience in AWS services and technologies including but not limited to IAM, VPC, S3, EC2, CloudWatch and CloudTrail, Route 53, RDS, SSM, ElasticSearch and Lambda
• Working knowledge of transitioning applications to AWS environments including lift-and-shift and re-factor/re-architecture approaches
• Ability to solve server problems or server infrastructure issues and to manage the performance and capacity of an enterprise server environment

Required Education

• Bachelor's Degree

Required Experience:

• 10 years of experience related to network/system engineering and security
• Active IAT Level II Certification (Sec , CCNA, CySA , GICSP, GSEC, CND, SSCP, or equivalent)
• Must have one of the following ACTIVE Computing Environment (CE) certifications: (Linux , Server , AZ-104 Azure Administrator, AZ-204 Azure Developer Associate, AWS Solutions Architect - Associate, AWS DevOps Professional, VMWare Certified Professional (VCP), ServiceNow Certified System Administrator)
• Active or interim Secret Clearance
