This is a primarily immigration law solo practice. The firm however also handles real estate, criminal defense, and bankruptcy to a primarily Spanish speaking clientele. The ideal employee will gain valuable experience in the area of family based immigration law and the legal profession.
Responsibilities:
- Fluent in Spanish and English REQUIRED. This is a primarily Spanish speaking clientele will need to communicate in verbal and written Spanish. Will be translating basic documents from Spanish to English
- Assist attorneys with legal research, document preparation, and case management. Will need to pay attention to detail as the job will require completing various sensitive immigration documents
- Conduct interviews with clients and witnesses to gather relevant information
- Review and analyze legal documents for accuracy and completeness
- Maintain organized case files and update case management systems
- Assist in the preparation of trial materials and exhibits
- Coordinate with other legal professionals, such as court and agency personnel and opposing counsel and USCIS, ICE and the Immigration Courts.
- Answer phones and set up appointments
- Maintain calendars
Experience:
- SPANISH REQUIRED
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of litigation procedures and court rules
Candidates with a background in law or related field will be preferred. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, a passion for the law, and a desire to learn and grow in the legal profession.
