St. John Regional Catholic School seeks qualified candidates for as PreK through 8th Grade Art teacher. The art teacher's responsibilities include sourcing art supplies, preparing lessons, and providing developmentally appropriate instruction on art techniques. She/he should also be able to supervise lessons to ensure that learners interact in a supportive and respectful manner. The teacher would need to be comfortable with technology integration utilizing Chromebook and G-Suite applications.

Essential Functions

• Provide grade appropriate instructional program for students in grades PreK-8 in the field of visual arts.
• Maintains an attractive, organized, and engaging learning environment.
• Develops lesson plans with clear objectives in line with the Archdiocesan Course of Study.
• Uses relevant technology to support/enhance instruction.
• Maintains appropriate classroom management through positive behavioral interventions and supports.
• Maintains accurate and complete records of students' progress in Power School.
• Provides regular and consistent communication with parents, students, staff and administration.
• Performs assigned duties when needed for the supervision of students before, during or after school including lunch duties, recess duties, dismissal duties, and any other duties assigned by the administration.
• Participates in faculty meetings, school committees, and in-service learning opportunities.

Position Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education
• Current MSDE certification or ability to achieve required certification.
• Prior successful teaching experience grade level education.
• Basic understanding and acceptance of Catholic school philosophy, goals, and objectives.
• Knowledge of and/or willingness to learn about the integration of technology into lessons.
• Practicing Catholic preferred.
• Excellent communication, collaboration and organization skills required.
• This position requires absolute confidentiality, professionalism, and a team-player approach.
• Support and uphold Catholic moral and social teaching and the mission of SJRCS (practicing Catholic preferred).
• Employment is contingent upon acceptable results of a state and federal fingerprint background check, completion of VIRTUS Training, and completion of all necessary paperwork.
