Saint John Regional Catholic School is Hiring a Bookkeeper for School (NE) (Current Opportunity) - Saint John Regional Catholic School, Frederick MD Near Frederick, MD

We seek a skilled Bookkeeper to maintain our financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments. The bookkeeper's job duties include working closely with the school & AOB accounting team to create and analyze financial reports and ensure compliance with legal requirements, process accounts payable and receivable, and manage invoices and tax payments. Our ideal candidate holds a background in finance degree and is familiar with accounting software packages, like QuickBooks, FACTS, and UKG, used by the AOB. The Bookkeeper is a full-time service professional who helps school leadership keep track of money earned and spent. The Bookkeeper prepares accounts, documents daily financial transactions, and ensures compliance with applicable standards.

Essential Functions:

  • Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process
  • Verify that transactions are recorded in the correct day book, supplier’s ledger, customer ledger, and general ledger
  • Bring the books to the trial balance stage
  • Perform partial checks of the posting process
  • Complete FACTS grant and Aid paperwork and tuition requests
  • Placing orders for supplies
  • Enter data, maintain records, and create reports and financial statements
  • Liaison with employees for the UKG payroll program
  • Process accounts receivable/payable and handles payroll in a timely manner.

Position Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration
  • 3 Years of relevant experience
  • Proven bookkeeping experience
  • Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles
  • Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records
  • Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers
  • Proficiency in English and MS Office
  • Customer service orientation and negotiation skills
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
