Job Summary : Perform a wide range of transactional duties to serve members by receiving or paying out funds with a high degree of accuracy.
Explain Credit Union service offerings to members and open new accounts. Greet members and provide prompt and efficient service.
Minimum Education : High School Diploma or GED.
Licensure, Registration and / or Certification : None.
Work Experience : 1 year of experience, preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities : Excellent customer service skills Ensure confidentiality of information
Essential Functions and Responsibilities : Ensure members and visitors have a pleasant experience with the Credit Union.
Receive and pay out money, and keep a record of money and negotiable instruments in financial transactions. Regularly balance currency, coin, and checks in the cash drawer and compare totaled amounts with data recorded in the system.
Receive consumer loan payments. Maintain knowledge of all products and services to provide information to the member when requested.
Refer members to appropriate Credit Union personnel when necessary. Provide prompt service to any member or visitor to the Credit Union.
Open new accounts and service existing accounts. Handle requests from members for transfers of shares to loan payments, share withdrawals, check requests, CD transactions, and other requests received from members.
Provide members with the proper forms regarding stop pays, unauthorized or fraudulent transactions and assist members in completing the documents as necessary.
Ensure all forms and applications are sent to the back office for processing on time.
Decision Making : Independent judgment in making minor decisions where alternatives are limited and standard policies / protocols have been established.
Working Relationships : Works with internal customers via telephone or face to face interaction. Works with external customers via telephone or face to face interaction.
Special Job Dimensions : Must be eligible and able to be bonded by the company approved by the credit union.
